Stallings got fired at TAMU.

Texas A&M in the 60s was an absolute wasteland landfill. We laugh at them today but back then they were the absolute dregs like Arkansas is now

I will never understand why so many people dislike this guy.
I honestly don’t understand why anyone, besides Miss State fans, like him at all

He finally hired an offensive coordinator, imagine that. Billy thought he could call plays against SEC defenses; looks like he wised up after getting shitecanned and got one so he can get back to his roots and dominate the mighty Sunbelt. I know for a fact his ego is bruised about it though, he defended his playcalling to his last breath at UF.

Napier is 4-0 at JMU. They give them a 28% chance at making the CFP. Some coaches are just built for certain levels and places. Stallings got fired at TAMU. Won it all at Alabama.

JMU was already established and ahead of their comp in talent, NIL, etc due to Cig and Chesney.

Napier will fk it up eventually.

I think by now Muschamp knows he's a coordinator not a head coach and hopefully he is content being in Austin where he will get plenty of defensive talent to work with.

Yeah, I think Muschamp is now a career DC. And he will continue to make millions a year doing so with a lot less pressure than being a HC.

With the way top coordinators are paid now, I might prefer that gig to HC.

I would prefer a coordinator gig to HC gig myself.

Hell yeah. Auburn is paying DJ Durkin $2.7million/yr as DC.

Yet we have hired dumbasses like Billy Napier, Dan Mullen, Jim McElwain, and Will Muschamp.

I really don’t think any of them were bad hires, they just didn’t work out at Florida.

There were no warning signs. Dan Mullen was a beast at Mississippi St, will Muschamp was and still is a great defensive Coordinator and Sun Belt Billy had La Tech able to compete against mid major programs at a school with limited money and exposure.

I can’t speak about shark boy because I don’t know his pedigree, but the others seemed like good hires at the time.

People will shite on them in retrospect, but if LSU didn’t hire Saban away from Michigan St maybe he doesn’t become the greatest ever. Florida’s hires were a similar gamble just didn’t pay off
