I'll trade that facemask for the SI cover facemask on Tua any day.

That is true, if they don’t call the offsides then they can’t go back and call the false start.

I didn't see any extremely bad calls in this game. bad/questionable calls are going to happen, but I didn't see anything on the level of say Miami vs Wisconsin where the guy is holding the frick out of the defender right by the QB in front of the ref and it goes uncalled(leading Richt to lose control of Richt).

A facemask was missed for sure, but the defender let go of it and the ref apparently missed it as a result. Missed/bad call, but understandable.

etc

Yea it’s honestly hard to tell with how jagged the lines were.

Wasn't that awful for a National Championship game? Whoever did those lines was drunk or something!

That's where you are wrong. The false start was a no call....not a missed call.

What's the difference?

What he’s saying is that the refs never saw the false start so if they don’t flag the offsides then that kick is blocked and it’s a live ball. That kid just jumped a tad too soon because it looked offsides in real time.

Just what is the purpose of your late-arriving mea culpa? Why are you saying ... "huge impact?" how do you know? How do you know what would have happened next if calls were made or not made? Frankly, you don't, you just imagine something.

What you really mean is this:

(1) if certain calls were made that favored Georgia;
(2) and if those calls set up a different situation that favored Georgia;
(3) and if everything forward of those calls worked in Georgia's favor and there were no fumbles or interceptions, or sacks or whatever;
(4) and if those situations led to more points for Georgia and less for Alabama;
(5) Then Georgia wins the game.

No shite? Really? That is like some sophomoric ranter saying "if we threw more passes over the middle we would have won the game.." Maybe, if they were caught and nothing bad happened. In short you are full of it and are not God-like with the power of ordaining what would have happened with an alternative history.

Alabama fan my arse... you are just another whiney baby... good god the excuse making and butt hurt... I just hope it doesn't last as long as the LSU one.

And by the way, "what about the BS calls favoring Georgia over and again in the 2012 Alabama-Georgia SEC game?" See how stupid that sounds?

It's easy to see on the replay how the face mask call was missed. The Ga player had his back to the ref when the Bama player had a hold of the facemask. When the Ga player spins around to the view of the ref, the Bama player had dropped his hand to be pulling on the upper jersey. It's an easy miss/mistake by the ref, not a Bama conspiracy non call as some Ga fans claim. Either way, we got away with one. It's part of the game

My thoughts exactly. Much like the Eric Reid interception on the goal line in the 9-6 game, I could make an argument for the call going either way. But it’s inconclusive and however the call was initially made, not enough evidence to overturn it.

They didn't call it?
They called the offsides. Had they gotten the offsides call right, we would have gotten the blocked punt, because the referees did not call the illegal procedure.
People are saying that if they had gotten the offsides call right, then it would have been illegal procedure. No, it wouldn't, because they never made that call.

That is also why I said, that if we want to go back and correct every call, then on that play we would also have to correct the missed illegal procedure call.

I know it is confusing, and I'm not real good as wording things sometimes.

ALso should have been a personal foul when the bama player shoved the UGA running backs head into the ground after the tackle. Pretty egregious no call.

But I mean, none of this excuses blowing a 20-7 lead. Bama made halftime adjustments and those young players were on a mission.

That's a good point. When you get that finite,
that's a really ragged line, with an inch or two
difference in spots with green overlapping white
and vice versa. While I would lean toward his
being out, there's not enough evidence to reverse
the call.

Meh. Missed calls are part of the game. It sucks when they happen in a big game, especially when it impact your team. I certainly understand the frustration with UGA fans. Every fanbase has been there.

But yeah, the only really bad missed call was the facemask. But looking at the replay I see why it was missed. Runner turned his head away from the closest ref, and the rest were just too far away. It sucks, but it happens.
