He's been rightly getting trashed on 680 all week.

Unless it’s a huge crowd almost all fans should be able to find a covered seat at Georgia State stsdium for the game.

It's still a chickenshit move by Blank. Long live the GA Dome!

It is, but it’s nice of GSU to host it. I doubt they will make any money doing so given weather conditions.

Azzhole moves like this tend to curse your franchise and prevent them from winning Super Bowls
If you are looking for curses, then look no further than the city of Atlanta.
I dont blame Blank for this. Can you imagine what we would be left with without Blanks money? A falling apart GA Dome with a financial burden of maintaining the Dome 100% at the feet of the city of Atlanta (think of the Atlanta infrastructure and then think of the Done).
Blank knows better than anyone the operative cost of the MBS. I trust his judgment on that more than high school parents.

in other words you expect him to spend his money because you don't want to have to dress warm. He got tax breaks because he wouldn't have built the stadium without them.

I'm not sure of the cost, as I've never really thought about it until reading the OP. But, the AHSAA rotates their championship game host site between BDS and Auburn with Bham getting back into the rotation soon. I'd be very surprised, and honestly a bit pissed as a taxpayer to find out the venue alone was costing the state $300k.
I am certain there are more affordable sites with more than adequate facilities. Hell, save even more money and let the higher seed host the game.
In any case, I'd bet the vast majority of state finals are held outdoors. Not worth crying about. Also, after the SEC CG, seems like most would be glad not to have their players on that shitty turf.

I guess they rotate. They did play at GSU a year or two ago.
I will tell you that the schools have to commit to a certain amount of tickets up-front. I know Hillgrove was stuck with a tone of them a couple of years ago. That’s not the case with the GHSA Final.

There was room under cover for most fans last night, but none of the covered seats were close to the field. A lot of the students were right on the sidelines next to the field...totally soaked!

While , I don’t think he should have raised the rent.
I never liked them at a neutral site.
I think the state championships should be played in hometowns. You know so maybe the local hotels and restaurants make a little money. You know the business that help sponsor the teams during the year. Why in the world do games need to be played in the city of Atlanta, when none of their teams get make it there?

Do they sell alcohol at the stadium during high school games?
