The GHSA used to play the GA State HS FB Championships in the GA Dome and since the new MB Stadium has been opened he has doubled the Rent that the GHSA had to pay to host the State Championship Games so the GHSA has to move them outdoors and now the Games will be hosted in crappy weather
a-hole moves like this is why Taxpayers should never subsidize or help finance Stadiums for Billionaire Owners and Taxpayers should also vote out Politicians that cave in to these greedy jerks
For those that don't have the full background, MB Stadium avoids paying any property taxes because it is considered part of the World Congress Center Authority, A State Agency created to serve the Convention Industry in the City of Atlanta, so even though the Stadium is privately owned he avoids millions in yearly property taxes due to this bullshyt technicality
An azzhole that avoids millions in yearly property taxes shouldn't be nickle & diming the HS State Playoffs for an extra $300K to host the State FB Playoffs, reportedly the cost increased from $300K to $600K when the new Stadium opened up
Azzhole moves like this tend to curse your franchise and prevent them from winning Super Bowls

How much property tax do these public schools pay?
Posted on 12/13/19 at 1:48 pm to PeeJayScammedGT
Yeah but soda's are $4 with free refills so I don't care.

Yeah, 'cause that sterling downtown Atlanta hasn't benefitted at all from having the stadium.
It's worth it to everybody or they wouldn't keep doping it

Are the games on the high school campuses?
Louisiana had some games at Tulane and ULL.

Yes until the finals, which are now at the old Turner Field.

The public Schools serve the public and the Constitutional Requirement of providing a compulsory education for its Citizens, the Stadium is a private cash generating machine for a billionaire owner that doesn't need to be subsidized by Taxpayers and since it was subsidized to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars then the least he could do is rent it out for the HS State Playoffs at cost rather than at a huge profit
He was also one of the main owners that chased every dollar when it came to those special days honoring the Military and we found out that he was accepting Monies from the Military's marketing budget to "honor" our Soldiers , basically turning "a profit" to honor our Soldiers

So he pays a couple Billion dollars for a stadium and SJW's like you want to tell him how much profit he can make on renting it out?

You azzholes from LA sure are dumb, the Taxpayers subsidized hundreds of millions of dollars to help pay for that Stadium AND he avoids paying any property taxes and other fees on that Stadium that saves him millions each year
He ain't Jerry Jones that built the Stadium with all his own money

Amen, and AMEN! The Georgia Dome was a wonderful venue with no issues except that Falcons management and ownership wanted a new venue. They even threatened to leave Atlanta if they didn't get it. I was ready to say "Adios, muchachos." Same with the new park built for the Braves.
If the teams think they are so valuable to the economy of a municipality then they should prove it rather than demanding that the city provide them with a venue.
That would be like Wal*Mart threatening to leave town unless the city commissioners built them a new store because Wal*Mart is good for the community.
The Georgia HS State Championships are being played (starting this morning) outside in truly shitty weather after years and years of playing in the Georgia Dome which has since been demolished. The taxpayers shelled out a lot of money to build that giant hubcap for Arthur. The least he could do is provide it to Georgia high schools at the same price they charged for the Georgia Dome. Otherwise, Blank can either repay the taxpayers for their funding or he and the Falcons can "blank the blank off!"

The state owns MCB and Arthur Blank runs it and I HIGHLY doubt many NFL team pay "property taxes"
Still a dick move by Arthur though

I thought the State owns the World Congress Center "Campus" but the Falcons own the actual Stadium
If the State owned the Stadium, I doubt the State would've doubled the price on the GHSA for the HS State Playoffs
After edit:
The State owns it , but only so that the Billionaire owner can game the system and the Taxpayers

You're not really comparing public schools to for-profit companies, are you? Surely you're not that stupid.
