We have got to be better than this hogs. I think I could give the pigs some advice. Go back to your roots. Go NIL a couple badass running backs and get your asses back in the wild hog and pound the football on people. That’s hog ball not the high scoring recent green teams. Play Felix McFadden ball. Find a niche. 5 straight Ls to Missouri? WHOOOF

Nah.
That ship has sailed.
Arkansas has shifted focus towards basketball.

You're talking about a time when Arkansas had Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hillis all in the backfield at the same time. I would venture to say that's the most dominant backfield any team has fielded ever if you consider all three backs.
That isn't something people can just "get back to." Players like that don't just fall into your lap all at the same time except maybe once in a lifetime. The fact Arkansas didn't win a title with those players is a pretty scathing indictment of Houston Nutt.

The fix was staring us right in the face begging for the job last year.
Now he's got one of the worst offenses in the country last year pushing the #1 team in the country.

That was back during a time when high school football was superior.
Not it is just terrible.
Unless something drastically changes, it will keep getting worse and it most likely will not be that way again.
Now basketball is the polar opposite.

Yeah, because in 2026 with the huge coaching salary pools that SEC teams have, nobody will figure out how to stop a one-dimensional running team
Actually, it's only four straight losses to Mizzou, but it is 1-10 in the last 11, and it's not really that surprising. Arkansas is underfunded for football and they keep making regrettable head coaching hires every few years. Meanwhile Mizzou is middle of the pack funding-wise for football and they made about as good a hire as could be imagined given the state of the program at the end of Odom's tenure in 2019. So, Mizzou really should be beating Arkansas regularly, the Tigers are much better set up than the Hogs at this point in time.

Commit to a wishbone option offense like the service academies
You’re never going to win a championship regardless at Arkansas. You could consistently go 5-7 to 8-4 with a service academy offense and not have the worst record in the conference since the expansion in 2012

Football will just exist only to support basketball.

They will struggle just to get 8-4 in any year.
Mostly likely average 2-4 wins a year.
I don't see how it can be fixed.
As time goes on, football will just be ignored as fans wait for basketball and baseball.

Is a UNC fan really giving out football advice? Whatever UNC says, do the opposite.

I don't seem them doing any better.
Arkansas just doesn't have all the pieces to the puzzle to be good in football.

Mizzou pulverized that McFadden team too

They've become a likable kansas.

quote:yes that was the goat but before then with names not as big your were physical. McFadden wasn’t a 98 hog that was almost #1. When Arkansas showed up you dreaded their running game. And y’all were physical. It just fit with razorback football like fun and gun with spurrier. You probably aren’t gonna get the best players today but you could get some good lineman and maybe even some top tier running backs with promises of tons of carries. May not/probably won’t work but just a suggestion. Get that identity back. Nothing could be worse than this. Reminds me of my titans

They have turned into Kansas football before Broyles arrived in Fayetteville.
Had he not taken the job, Arkansas would be much worse off.
This is what they really are.

As long as the portal remains open, Arkansas will struggle keeping any decent players.
In the past, players would go to Arkansas because they were overlooked by superior programs. They would use that motivation and develop over 4-5 years.
Now they just use Arkansas as stepping stone to get more money and transfer to better programs.

I was thinking see if they can pull Jonathan Taylor from Indy? Why not?

Speaking of that, how much will it take to pry Jordan Anthony from you?
