We understand! We would probably do the same thing in your position.

Nobody gives a frick about Arkansas playing Texas A&M. Arkansas matching up with Texas & Oklahoma would boost their visibility in the region.

They need to hire a good coach (which they might have, too early to tell) and start recruiting at a higher level again

There is basically a cap on this because of a few different factors.
More than anything the coach they hire needs to be a great developer and makes good hires within the program that also excel at that.

To be fair, I don't think the people who wrote this do either

Don’t mess with my fantasy.

I hope this would be true.

I know the geography is tough. It’s well covered territory on here and I like the approach y’all have taken. Just saying it’s hilarious to act like Arkansas football doesn’t have visibility and OU and Texas will save them
you play in the premier conference in the country against the best teams week in week out. If there’s one thing that’s not an issue it’s visibility

If they can’t sell recruits on their current setup over going to Baylor or TCU this isn’t gonna do it. We don’t seem to have an issue.
Disagree with this. I think Baylor and TCU have been doing pretty well recruiting and that takes a big hit if Texas and OK leave. I think Arky might see this as the kill shot at the Big12 --- which would give them more recruiting access in Texas.
Purely speculation, but I also think beating Texas arse annually would help the Hogs a good bit.

Well the other flaw with his argument is saying that Baylor and TCU have recruited much better than Arkansas. Over the last 5 years they’re about on par with each other. Arkansas needs to do a better job of developing the players they get, and it’s also extremely difficult to win games in our conference recruiting at that level. All 3 are typically in the 25-35 range or so every year in the composite
If they get more of those types can it help? Not if they don’t have a staff that can develop them

Believe it or not Ole Miss has done a better job than us at recruiting Texas since 2013 which is pretty crazy since we border the freaking state lol. Hopefully this realignment would help but we can’t seem to consistently get inroads there no matter who the coach is for whatever reason.
We have commits from Ohio, Michigan, and several from Georgia in this current class and none from Texas yet

Arkansas has NEVER had any stability in the SEC with coaching. It is very hard for Arkansas to make any gains when they're been demoralized by terrible administration and boosters who don't know what they hell they are doing.
Arkansas has seem to found a good AD and thus has found a coach that has passion and care not seen since Ken Hatfield.

I 100% want to add Texas.
OU is the school I don’t care to add. That one does nothing for Arkansas. I’d rather have someone on the East side like FSU or Clemson

That would have been unheard of back in the SWC days. But I believe that is an indication that Arkansas doesn't have to live and die by recruiting Texas.

For sure. Even if Pittman is just a transition guy I think he’s the right person for where you’re at. And maybe he’s more than that, we will see. It’s obvious from last year Arkansas is going to play their asses off for him and the culture is good which makes an impression on recruits
