I'll be honest. I'm too young to care too much about Arkansas/Texas rivalry. It happened too long ago.

I recall a handful of Arkansas/Texas games since Arkansas joined the SEC. Seems like there have been 5 or 6.

The un-tapped hatred would be for OU. A large portion of Arkansas' population lives along the Arkansas/Oklahoma border counties. Fort Smith metro and NWA both have tons of Sooner fans, because the rural eastern Oklahoma counties send their people over here for work, Walmarks, Home Depot, etc.

The only reason I'm opposed to it is I don't want to go completely blind from hatred. There's already enough hate. I don't think I could handle the big heaping spoonful of Sooner hate I'd be forced to deal with.

So if Texas A&M’s continued membership in the SEC was currently up for a vote, any person who was “pro” the Ags being dismissed would be admitting to fear?

Arkansas needs Texas recruits if they are ever going to return to relevancy. Texas being firmly an SEC state with Arkansas playing aTm and UT every year does nothing but help them.

Plus, I have never sensed a deep hatred of the Big 12/SWC/Big 8 or its former schools from Arkansas fans in the same way aTm hates it. Arkansas left for the SEC because it could sense the SWC imploding and felt it was prudent to hop on a new ship before that one sunk. If anything I think Arkansas would love an SEC West with OU, UT, aTm, and Mizzou in it. Arkansas would suddenly be centrally located within the SEC West whereas it used to be an outlier.

Aggy out here showing their true colors and it ain’t maroon…it’s yellow. Y’all scared as hell of a Horns program that ain’t done shite in a decade.

Why would joining the SEC change all that? Better conference than the Big 12 and more top recruits will go to Texas if they are in the SEC than they are in the current Big 12. That is a huge advantage to Texas and Oklahoma! That would be the same for Georgia Tech and one of the Florida schools if they join the SEC. That will boost their recruiting by a mile! That is where Georgia, Florida, Texas A&M do not want that to happen.

TCU is signing more quality Texas kids than Arkansas. They’re loaded. Baylor is still landing 4* skill players in state. Oklahoma State is still signing some of the best QBs & WRs in Dallas. Even SMU just signed a 5* WR. Arkansas would be in position to cash in on those types of players.

I’m not sure. Kinda like a Taliban vs Isis thing in Afghanistan. Aggy is obviously ISIS here. Neither are good but you’d rather have the Taliban run shite.

I don't either. The older fans would be excited playing Texas and Oklahoma. Arkansas is lost in the SEC but if Oklahoma and Texas join then they would feel more right at home.

Do they not get ESPN in Dallas now or something? What is this extra visibility you’re talking about

We aren’t? OU is fine with us and they are the better program anyway.

Nobody gives a frick about Arkansas playing Texas A&M. Arkansas matching up with Texas & Oklahoma would boost their visibility in the region.
