Auburn SHOULD win, but don't expect stAte to roll over. They've had a couple of pretty good years in a row, and they (coaches, team) are probably coming in thinking they can win.

You should out talent them though. They do have a handful of good players.

I doubt Gus got smarter in the past year and Thompson knows what Gus is gonna do...

Should be a fun game

Did State change thier offense or keep Gus'?

If they kept Gus', then AU should have no issue Saturday. (They should have no issue regardless.)

Gus and EJ should know every tendancy that State will try to run...hell it's his offense.

Based on the first game, State went one demensional against basically a HS team. Either they cannot pass or chose not to. They ran 57 times and passed 13. They fumbled twice but I assume that is due more to the number of run plays.

We just played a pass heavy team and had 3 INTS...should have had 6. I am sure EJ will run his more traditional 4-2-5 defense and not play nearly as much nickel and dime sets.

I see a 35-14 type game.

Lol at stAte. Just a few short months ago Gus was going to turn them into the Boise of the South and his presence in Jonesboro made them a more attractive program than Arkansas and one with a better future.

I don't think I saw a more inept team last weekend than Washington St. Their QB gave the game to Auburn, yet Auburn struggled with them. If Auburn plays like they did last week, they'll get blown out by Arky St. I don't know what the spread is for this game, but I'd be inclined to take AS and the points.

Maybe true, but is it at all possible that AUs change to man defense forced plays and they deserve a little bit of credit?

I mean, before the change to man, the WSU QB was lighting it up. After the change and upon the insertion of a freshman DT that was getting pressure, the QB struggled. Tough to know for sure, but I would like to think the defense had something to do with it.

It will be a nail biter if we don't show improvement, but I don't see anyway we get blown out.

13. Go make some money. Probably a good bet. I made a homer pick of AU in the ATS thread, but 13 might be too many for this team to cover.

Pretty sure they are using their HC's offense, which is basically Petersen's offense.

On the other hand, stAte's defensive staff and players are just as familiar with Gus' offense.

Same can be said about Auburn last week, Auburn's O-line should be bigger/stronger/faster and dominate stAte's front 7 in the run game.

I'm sure EJ will go to a different scheme against a different type of one dimensional offense, Auburn fan's won't have a "pulse" on their defense until they play a team with offensive balance, IMO.

Yup...most AU fans are waiting to play MSu to assess the D fully.

it's probably the most common sense statement DD has ever made... at least from what I've read of his work.

It appears beating a mediocre SunBelt team has suddenly made the arky posters football experts... hopefully we can say the same thing after saturday.

When you rush for 10 yards per carry why pass? They rushed for 509 yards and y'all have Jake Holland in the middle to try and stop them. May be closer than you think.

That is the most logical non-flaming non-trolling post I've ever seen dale make. I'm not sure what to think.
