1) This isn't a done deal yet. We still have time to frick it up.
2) Anybody that's not happy with this offer is stuck on, "muh Bobby" or doesn't understand that Arkansas has been the shittiest program in the SEC since Bobby was fired all those years ago.

Pretty good get at this point. Who did they think they could land?
No offense but Arkansas had placed themselves in a pretty down spot over the past 10-15 years with what they’ve hired to lead their program. Truthfully Arkansas has a lot of work to do if they want to get the tarnish off. After taking my son there for a camp last summer I can agree the location is nice, but location doesn’t trump the current condition of the program.

LSU has broken their minds and their state over this. Desperate. And may be making a horrible choice with Lane (but who knows?).

Yup. He will need to put up some results for sure. But it’s not like they will fire him in 3 years for going 8-4.

I actually thought Petrino had a “no lose” opportunity to show something when he got the interim gig.
Unfortunately, all he showed was “no win”. Yeah, he inherited a weak defense. He didn’t even pretend to try to improve it, though.

He did try to improve the defense. He fired the DC, which is all you can really do in the middle of the season. I wonder where Petrino will be OC next year

There is no question that LSU could have hired Golesh if it wanted to. No one is taking the Arkansas job over the LSU job, that's silly.

Some coaches actually care about more than their career. A&M has Elko as long as Mrs. Elko is happy. That is why he didn't move on to PSU. Ever heard the phrase "Happy wife, happy life?"
