I don't think I've ever seen an illegal forward kick, especially a punt beyond the LOS. Loss of down penalty and yardage. Ouch.

The SEC tried to become too much like other conferences instead of sticking to their hard-nose style of football; AND NIL stole some of our best talent out of the conference.

This. SEC dominance was predicated on running the ball and stopping the run.
We started chasing the spread O because Saban got the yips from Clemson and got away from smash mouth. The rest of the conference followed suit. We are a soft league now.
