Great start at 13-1. Hopefully they converted it into a successful season.
LSU did but it was in baseball and not basketball after a hot start. Maybe baseball will fall off too just not quite like it in basketball.

Recap:
A young man who is 5 star basketball player signs with tu. tu coach is fired for beating up his girlfriend. (And then hired at Ole Miss!) Young man asks tu to release him. tu refuses, making it more difficult for the young man to attend college.
This is all on brand.

Long after Beard (coach at Texas, not Tulane) was fired, Texas eventually named Rodney Terry the full-time head coach. Ron Holland expressed his excitement to play for Rodney Terry before ever asking Texas to release him. Once Holland requested release from his NLI, Texas ceased to immediately grant it to make sure there was no funny business (sure seems mysterious considering the kid just said he was excited to play at Texas approximately 6 weeks before). That has always been standard procedure.
Texas eventually did release Holland less than a month after he asked (if he was serious about going elsewhere, he could've asked for release earlier than mid April before Texas decided to practice this standard procedure).
Like I said: an aggie being willfully ignorant to paint "big bully tee yew" in a negative light because he's jealous of how much more successful Texas is than his own school is indeed all on brand

Not even close to the way it played out. He campaigned for Terry to get the job and said he was rock solid if we hired Terry. We hire Rodney and a month later Arkansas starts tampering, sorry we don't just bend over & take it like Aggies. We released him from his NIL, he still could've gone to college, he chose not to. These five star basketball recruitments are clown shows, thankfully you will never have to worry about that with Buzz.

What a stupid thing to say. Ron Holland made his decision on what was best for him.
His goal is to make money playing basketball and once the G league got into the picture, it should have been a clue for Arkansas that he wasn't interested in playing college ball and they needed to move on.

Maybe the kid didn’t want to go to school anymore. I didn’t when I graduated.
He has a good avenue to make more money than I ever dreamed of and I can’t blame him for taking it. I wish him luck.
