The best part about the SEC for the Sooners is they can break free from Texas now. I think they will and they will compete at a high level soon. Might need a different coach though, TBD.

Their fans will also mesh with SEC fans easily.

The only place a University of Texas degree is valuable is in Texas. I have two cousins, graduated from the University of Texas Phi Beta Kappa, and they agree.

Unless it is an Ivy School or a top private school, all the degrees are pretty much the same.

Damn dude, if your cousins told you that, I'm inclined to believe you.

Apparently advisers are telling applicants that specifying a gender could limit admittance into desired programs.

Sad, if true. Oh how times have changed. Glad I made it through when I did.

They were not trying to insult UTx but it is the truth everywhere. Unless an applicant walks through the door where I work with an Ivy League degree, they are just another applicant.

They have no idea what they are getting themselves into. Not just football, but ALL sports.

I’m very happy Vandy will no longer be the SEC punching bag

Hint: he’s referencing your sentence, not because you ARE more educated. It’s that you think it, and then state it.

Just breaking it down for you.

Is taco meat any good south of the border?

FWIW, if you are old and actually had Cincinnati chili before say 1980 (when the MBA's took over) they might have put cocaine in it like Coke used to have coke in it. It was addictive like that back then. I think it is watered down now and whatever the secret ingredients were, they must have been more expensive and are not longer in there.

Bragging about being "more educated" is exactly the kind of thing that makes you look like a bad "culture fit". That said, who gives a shite. You guys have a big stadium, a lot of history, and a big name. It will mean more big games for everyone, at least for a few years, after which it will be all about results. You go 7-5 in the SEC for a string of years and you will not remain nationally relevant. Go 10-2 or better and you will.

Regardless of the culture fit issue, whether or not you are any good at SEC football is all that matters now. We will all find out soon enough.

What they probably don't realize is that Oklahoma fans are actually a great cultural fit for the SEC.

Are they?

They are basically Ohio State fans. Passionate? Sure. But they don’t understand their place in the pecking order. You ask them the best teams of the past 20 years and they all literally think it’s 1. Alabama, 2. Oklahoma.

Not saying I disagree with you, I don’t enjoy most sooner message boards. But what is your 1-2 over the past 20 years?

The SEC is diluting it's brand by expansion.

I'd say 247 has it about right.

1. Alabama (not aggot)
2. Ohio State (not aggot)
3. Oklahoma (not aggot)
4. Sill Not aggot

Adding Mizzou diluted the brand. Texas and OU are a different story.

Lol y'all kill me with this "culture fit" stuff. Do you know that literally fans at every school in the nation also drink beer and tailgate while talking about football?

Your tailgates are catered.
The people in your tailgates huddle around each other talking quietly while sipping on beer.
Your fans don’t interact and have fun with visiting fans.
Visiting there is like attending the lamest cocktail party ever.

That’s not what cultural fit means.

In what world is OU's trophy case better than LSU's, Georgia, Clemson, or Florida's the past 20 years.
