What they probably don't realize is that Oklahoma fans are actually a great cultural fit for the SEC.

The other team coming with them isn't.

I wonder if OU will still have recruits take pictures with all of their Big12 championship trophies once they get to the SEC

Eventually the Texas/OU series will go home & home and they will whither and die like Nebraska.

Oklahoma will be a good fit

They are the more successful and much more popular of the two new schools

You listen too much to Colin Cowturd. Texas will die first.

Lol y'all kill me with this "culture fit" stuff. Do you know that literally fans at every school in the nation also drink beer and tailgate while talking about football?

I guess by culture fit you might mean "more educated." THAT would make sense for Texas not being a culture fit

They are just now figuring that out.

I get Texas moving. Might as well at least lose to good teams and ESPN LHN black hole. But never understood OU making the move.

That poster is correct and I've said the same thing for years. The entire point of playign games is to win the most amount of them that you can. I mean no one would argue that, rihgt? So logically, it amkes no sense to make things harder on yourself and MORE difficult to win as many games as you can.

For OU to conceivably have a schedule one year where they play Texas, Bama, UGA, LSU, UF, etc. all in the same season is absolute lunacy from a competitive standpoint. Sure there's tons of money involved. Sure it's fun for TV networks and fans. But rationally speaking it's making your ultimate objective that much harder.

Granted, a lot of that goes out the window jnow with an ever expanding playoff field, which I'm sure will one day continue to balloon to more tems due to the almighty dollar. But still, the point remains.

I have yet to run into one person not liking the move. There are Karens in every sport city but so far I haven’t seen or talked to any.

I think for some fans, they seen a snake coach leave in the dark of early morning. And took players with him. Then endured a massive roster churn - and those fans were looking at what the team would have been with Caleb staying. So that was a gut punch to them - no coach had left OU on their own since the 40’s. It was a shock. Then duexto roster churn they went 6-7 and those are the panicked few fans.

Everyone I talk to is super pumped and looking forward to both home and away games in not just different new stadiums but in the ones with the most rabid fans in the college world. They know its not going to be easy yet want that competition amd rivalry.

Every single thing around Sat football will be enhanced and improved for the fans. Even the schools know they have to step up and improve game day experiences and facilities.

Until we get there no one knows how we’ll do, we all have our opinions that won’t change until we face off. But I am 100% sure its going to be fun and exciting for fans of all the teams. So many storylines to come and a majority of fans could not be happier. Except a few Karens.

You haven’t met anyone who doesn’t like the move? Well, let me introduce myself and a lot of my SEC buddies. My name is Saturday and I don’t like it. Not one bit

If crying like a baby would change things I sob non stop. Nothing is going to change the SECs latest blooper so we all are just going to have to rev it up a notch and show these outsiders why it was a huge mistake for them to come to the SEC
