Every rationale fan saw this as an 8-4 or 9-3 season before the TCU game. We lost too many people on defense to stay at the same level we were the previous three years, and we still have o-line issues. The negatigers you see now are the ones who thought we'd go 10-2 "at worst", and now they're outraged we aren't there.

Take their claim that this year and last are down years. We beat two teams that finished in the Top 10 last year, and we have a win over a Top 10 team this year already. You're doing something right when that's a disappointing stretch. Watching Saban do so well at Bama doesn't help, admittedly.

It wasn't that much different for Saban then than it is for Miles now.

As far as bad outcomes in certain games went, I would agree. But overall, LSU fans didn't want another coach once Saban won the SEC (even more so after the NC win). I'm not saying all fans want another coach now, but some do and a number of others would not mind.

The truth is that Saban's personality was something that the fans identified with more. LSU fans go nuts during the games and they liked the way Saban coached - emotional, intense on the sidelines, correcting players during the game, getting after refs, etc. Miles is very laid back in comparison and mostly just talks on his head set during the game. He's very calm most of the time. Sometimes he can seem aloof. He's just kind of opposite of the average LSU fan. So I think that's an issue as well that comes into play.

Lulz at people bringing up Sabans record while he was at LSU.

Dude is a much better coach now at Bama than when he was here.

He was still figuring things out while he was at LSU.

Now you guys want him fired? Seriously?

There are fans here that would like to see him gone no doubt, but I wouldn't paint all LSU fans with the same brush. Some of these guys are just young and emotional and wouldn't ever be satisfied no matter what. And that includes if Saban were still here.

Us dropping the game against Ole Miss pissed a lot of people off.

We had no business losing that game. We got beat by Ole Miss' scrubs and were completely unprepared in that game.

Also I don't think Miles will ever quite live 1/9 down until he gets a title. Most fans are still pissed off about it.

Miles is in tough spot, no matter what he does some fans are gonna be pissed until he gets a title. Not really fair but just the way it is.

Fair assessment. I agree.

LSU has beaten one team with a winning record this season. Its looking more and more likely that they're going to end the season only beating one team that even ends up bowl eligible. That's just garbage any way you slice it.

pretty much this

mostly I find people who rag on Miles ridiculous but the sprinkling of losses to Arkansas and Ole Miss in the last half dozen years just shouldn't have happened. you can get beaten by a team like Bama on Saturday but losing to Ole Miss a couple weeks before was bush league stuff. It happens at most programs... but it should not have happened as often as it has recently

When your team is on a long winning streak you tend to get spoiled. That is just human nature. Saban talks about that all the time with his players and fans.

"What "run"? Nick Saban had a lower win % from 1999-2004 than Miles has had there. They both won one national title. They've been close to two others under Miles."
--------------------------------------------------

Now that's one stupid comment! When Miles got there, he inherited Saban's talent (and won a NC with it)while when Saban got there, he inherited NOTHING. How many years do you think it takes to build a football team from the ground up, Bozo?

Not true at all. He inherited guys like Rohan Davey, Josh Reed, Ryan Clark, Trev Faulk, Bradie James and Domanick Davis.

Then there are an awful lot of irrational LSU fans then, because this board is crawling with LSU will go to the National Championship...and LSU will win 10-12 games this season. Carp. Look at the board right now and you will see LSU fans starting threads about how Texas A&M has not chance of winning this weekend.

All we heard was that your two deep returned more than everybody else and the defense would not lose a step. Strong as always!

Cameron would come in and turn the offense around! (He did, too!)

LSU recruits big every year and this is a reloading year. Business as usual. And these were all said by the vast majority of the posters on this board. rational? Ok.
