But these retard backwoods Ozark fricks are still on the hook for Chad’s Arky buyout.

You get that you fat walmark fricks?

If he gets hired, does that modify the buyout?

Edit: modify, not nullify!

Probably so. Arkansas would likely only have to make up the difference. So in a way, Auburn is helping Arkansas.

Chad is owed 3 mil from the razorbacks but whatever he makes at Auburn negates it. So if he makes 500/yr at auburn he will only get 2.5 from Arky. If I were Auburn id make his salary $1 and make arky pay him...lol

Typically the school still owes the difference, IIRC. Obviously it depends on the contract.

So if Arky was paying Morris $2.5M/ yr and The Barn I'd paying Morris $750K/ yr, Arky is still cutting a check for $1.75M

This sounds like a helluva good idea.

Most contracts require a duty to mitigate the buyout amount by seeking other employment, which Morris has done. New salary should reduce the buyout accordingly. Not sure if this is a dollar for dollar reduction, or if there is an exemption up to a certain amount. Just depends on the details of the contract.

It is dollar for dollar and he is obligated to not only find work, but to take a job with compensation at fair market value. So contrary to the comment above, if he took the OC job for a $1 a year, he would be in breach of contract and we would be off the hook for paying the buyout.

Sadly quite a few of the people reading this will get a bit lost and not understand what you said.

You need to go more along the lines of "Fire Bad!" Just aim your sights a bit lower so they can follow along.

$1 might be about right for the actual OC duties he will perform

lol are we really calling each other walmart? if we had to procure the 100 biggest white trash of each fanbase and held a competition (fewest teeth, most jail stints, fattest wife) it would be a dead tie every time

Wal Mart because of the Wal Mart family money behind Arky’s program. Missouri too.

It is truly amazing, that bama poster really hit the nail on the head regarding this site with his line about "rednecks making fun of rednecks"

Pretty sure that would give us cause to stop paying him altogether. You can't get paid way less than the going rate for your position.

They'll probably make a pretty good team there at Auburn. Morris can call offense. He's proven that. He just sucks at managing an entire football program. Like sucks bad. He runs Gus' offense already. Learned the basics of it from Gus and tweaked it a little for his own liking, but he was good at it.

In the end though its 6 of 1 or half a dozen of another. Auburn is getting a guy Gus will be comfortable enough with to allow him to call plays. Morris gets to "repair his image" and then they part ways. The end result you see on the field will look much the same next year. And there's a chance those two guys bounce notes off each other and come up with something even more effective.

frick Chad Morris though. He sucks as a head coach. Bigly.

This would be a best-case scenario for AU fans. Get Gustav away from constantly outthinking himself against good defenses, which we have seen throughout his HC career.

Can he give up that much control over gameplanning and playcalling? Even to his supposed best friend in the business?

I guess we'll see, but I remain skeptical.

not trying to flame Aubbie with this post... with most, but not this one..

Chard is absolutely terrible. Yes, our talent is much lower than what you have. But dude, offensive players running into each other on a play, that incredible fake punt. His fakes, are so bad everyone saw them coming. Trick plays??? WTFrick….

His schemes, his inability to adjust... For the first time in our history we went 10-2... and we thought it couldn't look worse.. Yet, in year 2... he proved all of our fans wrong.

Plus his eyes are too close together and he dances worse than Gus...

He isn't coming to be the HC. As far as players running into each, that's a talent problem. He didn't design a play and tell them to run into each other.
