Has anyone heard of this guy? This is one of the most in-your-face articles I have read:

LINK

Some snippets:

quote:

If agents are no better than pimps, what does that make you and all those other suddenly sanctimonious college coaches who lie to kids while recruiting them in the first place?

quote:

Nick Saban took home $4 million or so last year from Alabama, which has collected more probation-worthy violations (three) than any other high-profile football program in the country over the last two decades.

quote:

"I have no respect for people who do that to young people. None," Saban continued. "How would you feel if they did it to your child?" Oh, I don't know, maybe the same way some parents felt when their son came home and told them you decided not to renew his scholarship, which undoubtedly said more about the caliber of athlete he is than whether he was a good student.

quote:

Or maybe the way the parents felt when their kid came home and told them you were leaving Akron behind for Michigan State, then Michigan State for LSU, then LSU for the Miami Dolphins. And don't even get us started about leaving the Dolphins in the lurch, since you flat-out lied about leaving Miami. Loyalty can be a funny thing, no?

On and on.

That guy sounds like he has something crammed up his arse. And probation worthy violations? One of those was that bullshite with the textbooks. The other was Langham supposedly signing with an agent on a napkin. He makes it sound like all 3 cases was Alabama cheating

If I recall correctly, Georgia and tennessee were also cheating when Alabama was busted for cheating(Albert Means). I know tennessee was, but I can't remember for certain if Georgia was one of the other schools bidding for Means

Ga, Tenn, Ky, Arky, Mich St all offered or paid some money at the time, according to testimony under oath at the federal trial.

I said sorta the same thing in another thread though I didnt pick on just Saban. College recruiting and coaching in general is a dirty game sometimes. Theres alot of things that arent right about college football and alot of times people are going to look like hypocrites. Its a part of the game.

Jim Litke is one of the most respected and widely circulated sports columnists publishing today. Some of you are extremely dense.

For someone to be widely circulated.. he doesn't appear to be widely read.

If this guy is one of the most respected sports journalists today, than I understand why the print industry is in the state it is today.

Weak sauce. What publications does he have a column in daily or weekly? Maybe that will refresh my memory if I've ever read anything else by him.
