Saban’s teams have historically played significantly better in big games ranked #2 (or lower) compared to #1. I would love it if Clemson stays at #1 for the entire year.

What claim does Clemson have on #1 right now?

Is it perceived talent?
Eye test?
Easiest path?
Can’t be resume.

I legitimately don’t understand the argument for them at 1 based on season to date.

Yes because everyone has decided not to take Alabama as seriously with them being #2 as opposed to #1

Playing Ohio State in the Rose Bowl then Clemson in the NC seems like such an optimal solution
