They really diminished themselves by not being part of the playoff. They chose irrelevancy.

I know ESPN hypes it up like there’s nothing that compares, but I don’t see it.

The BCS exposed the farce that college football was for many years

When racist sports writers voted for the Championship team

Yes

I said racist

They were racist against the South

And continue to be so when they can get away with it

Making excuses right now about Notre Dame playing against one of the best teams in the country???

Honestly I could really give a shite less about the Rose Bowl out of all of them now that’s probably my least favorite out of the big ones

It’s a really fun place to watch a football game. I think I’ve been 4 times, and it’s an absolute blast.

Also, incredible scenery.

Rose Bowl is amazing and part of what made college football great. If you don't get that you've either never been or you're a phiggot.

It’s a good event but it’s not worth they hype and it’s certainly not worth reshuffling the schedule for the playoff around it

So far the only tangible reason anyone likes the Rose Bowl is because it’s pretty scenery. The rest is a bunch of mumbo jumbo bullshite.

the Rose Bowl experience is unlike any other. It’s the perfect setting for any kind of game. With that said, I hate that it holds back everyone else when scheduling. They have to be on New Year’s Day always. The only exception was the game being designated as the BCS title game.

It gets the praise and hype that it does because it is the oldest bowl game. It also has historically significance to Alabama. What I don’t like it that from 1947-2002, it was strictly Pac 10/Big Ten, with the exception of the 2001 BCS title game.

I think the game would get more respect if the traditional old blowhards would spread the wealth to other P5 programs who have just as much and may even have more than a lot of the teams in the Pac 12 and B1G.

Even though it was a designated CFP game, Georgia over Oklahoma might be the best Rose Bowl Game ever. The 2006 game with Texas over USC is up there.

Non-semifinal or NC games such as the 2003 OU over Wash State and 2005 Texas over Michigan I’m sure did not sit well with the Rose Committee.

Nope!! I’ve never understood the “pageantry” and hype the Rose Bowl gets!!

Stadium is in the middle of nowhere, and it’s old to boot! Plus PAC XII vs BIG X is a snooze fest to me!!

It’s a respectable event but ESPN and the Rose Bowl Committee act as if it’s The Masters when most of the time it’s a very forgettable game.
