Was curious what his Top 25 looked like. He's slowly counting down his Top 40 on his website. So far it looks like this:

#32 USF
#33 Penn State
#34 Florida
#35 Pittsburgh
#36 Northwestern
#37 Air Force
#38 Mississippi State
#39 Cincinnati
#40 Utah

Looks pretty decent so far. I'm curious to see what teams from the West he'll have in his Top 31... wonder if any will be left out. I assume only Tennessee and Georgia from the East will make his Top 25, which seems to be the case with most all the preseason mags.

Probably. And I hate that. I'd rather be lower to start the season.

Will cover his bases with Texas, though. They will be in the 20's, teens, and top 5, with two Heisman's.

I read a transcript of an interview he gave sometime last week. He never mentioned his order of teams, but you could tell in his mind the SEC would come down to 3 teams: Alabama, LSU, or Tennessee.

I stopped wasting my money on his preview. He says basically the same thing every year.

I would guess all of them because I believe he has State at 7th in the West this year.

That's kind of what I was thinking. If so, 6 West teams in the Top 31 would be unbelievably impressive.

Felt sure he would have AU listed somewhere.

I'm sure Arkansas, Auburn, A&M are all going to fall between 20-30, Mostly 25-30

We will start out in that range in most places, stoke unrealistic expectations by overperforming against UCLA, ride the same gameplan for about 3 games too long, stumble in the late stretch, then do just well enough against LSU to say we are a year, two players, and an assistant coach away from being a contender for relevance (and possibly even respect) in the SEC.

Fanciful guessing, I know.

Oh, then we extend Summy by about 3 years, with a buyout higher than the value of the contract itself.

We've all been there buddy. We know how it goes. Remember, much like a kidney stone, this too... after a great deal of pain... shall pass.

Look on the bright side, you get your annual win over Arkansas in OT.

Real groundbreaking analysis. Those are by far the three favorites. Tennessee should win the east. If they don't, Butch is on the hot seat.

Georgia has talent, but you don't win in the sec with a true freshman qb. I'd love to know the last true freshman qb to win the SEC. Florida has holes, but could be tough if they find a solid qb.

Chris Leak at UF in 03 is the only one the comes to mind. They're the only team to beat LSU that year. Matt Barkley did alright at SC whatever yr that was. 2009?

The pac defenses don't compare. And Barkley somehow got worse later in his career. Freshwater has done a great job with Bama's qbs, so no clue what happened there.

Good call with Chris Leak. I like to call those times the dark ages.
