He's going to screw up Hurd and Hurts so much you might not remember Saturday night if you decide to make a drinking game out of it.

If you think about it, his only job, really, is to get the names right. He hasn't been able to do that for years now.

I'll never forget that one. And it's not like he only screwed up for one game and then corrected himself from then on. It was literally every.single.game they called in 2008 where he mispronounced his name during the broadcast.

Brad Nessler will be replacing Verne in the booth. I believe CBS has already announced this.
And I'm not hating on Verne. I absolutely love the guy. I met him once before the 2011 Iron Bowl and he's just as nice and jovial off-camera as he is on. I just laugh at some of the things he says or mispronounces during the broadcast.

Verne doesn't bother me... Gary on the other hand really grinds on me especially when he gets stuck on something and continues to squeal like his labia is caught in his zipper for five hours...

At least Verne is terrible in a classic way. Jefferson Pilot and Dave, Dave and Dave were also kind of terrible in a classic way. Better than being terrible in a terrible way (cough cough Beth Mowins cough cough)

Anyone who thinks Verne is bad has not listened to Mack Brown. He is on the level of Bill Curry and Bob Davie.

I love it when the player reached the end zone five seconds ago, dead quiet, then Verne announces touchdown.

My fav is when there are a good assortment of foreign named guys playing in the game (few vowels and many consonants are the best). Hawaiian names are always fun with Verne =)
