Any new word coming out of Oxford on the return of the offensive line savior?

Two things I have heard:
(1) Most likely - he is out for 6 games and that OM has cut a deal with the NCAA to that order; and
(2) The SEC has linked him to direct payments from the athletic department as well as other "favors" and that he is done (certainly this is the least likely).
Both of these scenarios have come from OM fans that I know and trust.
That said, the basis of the thread is a rumor I heard this morning that he is reinstated as of today...but this is from a less credible person.

You trust anonymous posters on a football forum?

if this is true

This is not. That is a major NCAA infraction

Nope...I trust guys that give 10s of thousands to OM every year though.

this has been stated every week for awhile now, only the number of games continues to rise as he continues to be absent. at some point you have to start to wonder if he'll ever play again. i thought this case was very similar to marcel darius several years back. darius was suspended for two games iirc. the fact that tunsil continues to sit makes me think this is much more serious than him just driving a rent a car around without paying for it or whatever the initial "story" was.

I imagine he'll return just in time for the A&M game.
Not that it matters, of course. Garrett gonna eat regardless.

Difference is Daereus and Bama self-reported everything. It really was b.s. Daereus attended an agent's party in Miami

Basically everyone I know seems to be saying 6 games which would be the Memphis game (2 weeks)

Dareus got 2 all expenses paid trips, he did/took a little bit more than attend a party

basically everyone i know (most of my hometown friends are big ole miss supporters and very well connected) said he'd be back by the alabama game too fwiw. then the story was, if he sits out bama, he'll for sure be back for florida. now it's 6 games total. this is beginning to sound much more like dez bryant than anything else.

If he's not back by the Memphis game I'm not expecting him to be back for the rest of the year.

IF he's not back by Memphis, he just needs to drop out of school and prepare for the draft. As long as this is a topic every week, it's just an excuse for coaches, players, and fans to make for poor performance from our offensive line. I think he will be back by Memphis, but I wouldn't be shocked if he's not. Think everyone can agree that NCAA rules are stupid and they get broken, but if you get caught it's your own fault.

He was on the Cannon facebook page this summer as a buyer in their latest satisfied customer/buyer feature...and that was quickly removed.
I think it is more to it than a loaner.

if #2 can be proved then you have the grounds to shut the program down. A rouge booster is one thing but money coming from the athletic dept. could spell doom

This is something we all agree on. I don't care who the player is or what team they are on, but it is unacceptable for the NCAA to be able to drag things out like this with no timeline given for return.
Players don't get these games back, and if a player has to sit for an extended period of time, there should be a definite reason provided.
Of course, if this was Cam Newton the NCAA resolved it in a few hours.

Like I said, I do have some knowledge of things, but I was wondering what the rest of SEC land was hearing...seeing if it matched up with what I have heard.
