Because in the long run, aTm will be far more relevant than will Mizzou.

I don't think it anything more that one game is on ESPN while the other is on ESPN2. They made a decision early on to put the A&M/Fla match up on ESPN while they relegated the Mizzou/UGA match up to ESPN2 and now they are just towing the line. I really think its 6 one way and 1/2 dozen the other when judging the importance of each game anyway. Both places will have a raucous crowd for the first SEC game of each school. IMHO.

Well, Choctaw...your post shows how absolutely ignorant you are about sports.

Mizzou set the College Gameday attendance record when they played #1 Oklahoma in Columbia a couple of years ago.

And we beat the #1 team that night to a sold out crowd and a national audience.

Now promptly go take your typewriter and shove it far up your arse. Douche.

In spite of A & M’s lack or success over the years the Aggies have the following which makes them a good SEC fit and one that Gameday wants to be part of. • National TV Appeal • The State of Texas and a lot of college football fans • Tradition • A Passionate and knowledgeable Fan base • A coveted program that brings SEC passion deep into the heart of Texas. Missouri has had even less success than A & M and nobody really cares to watch the Tigers including their own "Fans". • No National TV Appeal • Little appeal to the fans even in the state of Missouri (KC has as many if not more Kansas and Kansas State Fans than they do Missouri and there are more Illinois Fans in St. Louis than there are Tiger Fans. • Have no tradition whatsoever • A weak and ignorant fan base. • Are not a coveted program and are more Big 10ish or Missouri Valleyish than they are SEC worthy. Missouri was an afterthought that the SEC settled on and they will be treated as such.

in a nutshell, the producers know A&M would go all out for this with their hokey traditions. word is, the A&M Yell Leaders have been practicing the "elephant walk" for months in honor of Alabama.

Yes, #7 vs an unranked team seems like it will be a much better game

LOL. You beat the #1 ranked Little 12 team? Impressive. Did they finish #1 that year? I don't think so.

I hope you enjoyed your last Gameday in Columbia because now you are competing against great SEC matchups, Missouri vs. anybody will not be considered a great matchup, instead of piss poor matchups like OU/Kansas, Texas/Baylor, Texas Tech/OSU, Kansas State/Iowa State.

Missouri is a Pro Sports state first (Cardinals, Chiefs, Rams, Royals) followed closely by Kansas/Kansas State Fans, Illinois and then Missouri around # 8 in popularity. That’s why you won’t be getting any more Gamedays.

no reason why they should have chosen A&M except for that its the first SEC game in Texas and you have 3 of the top 15 media markets there. thats the only thing i can think of.

of course florida is not exactly a sparesly populatd state and florida has a hell of a better national following than a&m. methinks perhaps you are a bit texascentric. just sayin'.

I guess UF is still a pretty big draw.

I appreciate the complements toward A&M, but Imma have to dust this one off for for the above statement about Missouri:

Some butthurt dipshit puts up a billboard near Gainsville and USA fricking Today is writing about it. There's a lot more national interest. If you haven't noticed A&M has been in the news A LOT over the last year (good or bad).

Because there's a greater likely-hood of the SEC noob beating an SEC stalwart. Better television.

And said noob was blamed/credited for "changing the face of college football forever" (because now AssU can't keep its thumb on A&M).

television ratings. simple as that.

lots of viwers in texas not so many in missouri.

and columbia is actually a pretty fun place to watch a game, not everything is about how huge or fancy a football stadium is.

Ratings! Nobody cares about Georgia outside Georgia. While everyone would like to Florida lose, like watching NASCAR to see the wrecks.
Sorry, no yellow flags this week, UF 28 / TAM 10.
And I mean literally no yellow flags, Gators! Stop with the penalties.

It doesn't really matter. Kyle Field is Mizzou's home away from home. They can't beat us in Columbia nor College Station.
