It helps when the defense also has to take into account Burrow and the receivers. Everyone loads the box on us.
Uhhhhhhhh.................Deja Vu
We couldn’t use this argument for LF, why do you get to now?

But but but fournette only had 31 yards vs bama.

Any LSU fan that doesn’t think that the play of Burrow and Fromm didn’t directly impact the play of swift and CEH is kidding themselves.
CEH has had a great year but he benefits from having a Heisman winner QB and Biletnikoff winner WR on his team.
Look at recent Oklahoma teams, their RBs are averaging 7.0 YPC because they have always had an explosive offense.
It’s not difficult to understand.

Yes. And Chubb is/was better than LF.

Different styles. Swift is a better traditional running back to take a bunch of carries out of the I formation and hit specific holes at 100 mph even if the D is focusing on him. Edwards is a borderline-ideal back for a spread system where you need to zone read the defense and have patience. Reminds a lot of people of Darren sproles. To be fair, that probably gives Edwards more general utility in todays nfl if you want to call someone “better”

Burrow wouldn't have seen the field this year at UGA.
Might explain why y'all can't score...

Swift would look a lot better with an offense like LSU has. Not his fault Fromm and Coley are turds

Edwards-Hellaire had the benefit of a QB that could actually hit a barn so defenses couldn't stack the box against him.
He also had the benefit of a HC that knows when it's time to adjust to the times, Swift was robbed of that opportunity
Man, this sounds SOOOO familiar.

Because of that shitty excuse for a D1 QB Fromm?
I think what they mean is Kirby is so damn obstinate that he would have played Fromm over Burrow even though Burrow is better. Just like he did with Fields

ONE GAME IS NOT THE ISSUE LOOK AT SEASON STATS

Let’s see which one gets drafted higher. I guess LSU fans aren’t wrong, Swift isn’t better when injured. I’m willing to bet Swift is drafted much higher though.

LSU fans can get mad at this all they want, but I'd take Swift in a second.
Georgia has no passing game. Everyone loads the box on them and expects the run. LSU the passing game is terrifying, you can not play the run vs them or they will destroy you in the air. Most teams tried to stop the pass first vs LSU, while vs Georgia the key goal is to shut down their run game and let Fromm win the game.
Edwards has been great to watch, but I would not take him before Swift. Numbers don't tell the whole story, and I think everyone understands this.

Swift was our offense this year.
As you could see from the film and the game, we didn’t even want Swift to get hit. No runs up the middle. Most plays he ran out of bounds. Comparing his stats from this game is garbage. Lol and he still averaged 6.5 yards a carry and 6+ per touch. Pretty good for being what looked like 60-70%.

All the excuses in this thread defending Swift... I feel like we said the same thing when LF7 struggled against Bama... Poor QB play... playing against loaded box... having a coach that wouldnt change gameplan.. etc. Funny.

So you are saying it is true? Cause Fournette is clearly an elite back.

Both are very good running backs. Difference was Swift was injured.
