I guess we will see if Bama is just a "decent team" or not Jan. 9th.
already saw it on Nov 5. Remember 9-6?

So, how many "quality wins" does it take to overpower a "forgivable loss"?
However many Okie State has plus two more.

Actually, OSU has a better "full body of work" IMO....
Alabama's biggest (and best) arguments should be "we look like the #2 team in the country" and "Iowa State has a crappy loss."
Other than those two statements, pretty much every other argument favors OSU. All that said..."Bama looks like the #2 team" is a strong, strong argument IMO and the ONLY reason that Alabama is still at 2.

I met a guy one time who looked almost exactly like Stephen Hawking, he worked at Cracker Barrell Country Store as a bus boy.

What will these anti-rematch people say if Oklahoma State loses on Saturday? It's not like they're playing the Citadel. They're playing Oklahoma, a fairly dangerous team.
Kinda like UGA?

People might agree with the no rematch stuff but did y'all read his reasonings? I liked him before reading that. He is a fricking idiot.

Stanford deserves to go before Alabama because they beat Oregon and Oregon is fast The frick? And don't forget Boise. They beat the mighty Bulldogs and ONLY lost to TCfrickinU. I'm really starting to think the odds are in favor or OSU getting in.

I don't know about that. They still have a hell of a football game to play.

Just wondering. If Oregon's only loss would have been to LSU, would LSU fans be complaining as much about a re-match with them as they are with Bama and if not why?

You don't remember? For a little bit LSU fans were saying Oregon deserved to go over Alabama. Buuuuuuuuuuut, they lost again. And now a rematch is the end of the world.

You sure it wasn't the Oregon fans saying that?

Yes, I have lobbied against ANY rematch....I would have been just as pissed if Oregon would have gotten a rematch with LSU.
Although, I should point out that if Oregon would have won out, they would have been Pac12 champion, so even though I believe neither deserved a rematch vs LSU, a 1-loss Oregon wouould have been above Bama because of being conference champions. Just my opinion.
But, to your point, I don't think either Oregon or Bama deserve a rematch, especially if there are one-loss conference champions out there that haven't had their FIRST shot at #1 LSU.

As a Harris poll voter, I’ll say it publicly now. If Oklahoma State defeats Oklahoma this week, I’ll vote them second in my poll.

For the record, yes.
Oregon's wins would not match OSU's wins IMO.
But to play devil's advocate, Oregon would be playing for their conference title (like they are) and their loss would not have come at home.

the OSU steam is definitely picking up. And I'm surprised. Usually the metaphoric changes happen on the final night (see 2007, 2006)....the fact that the OSU argument is building so early in the week should be a tad troubling for Bama fans.
Once voters realize that it is "ok" and legtimate to put Okie State 2, others will follow.
If VaTech loses and OSU wins, it's gonna be OSU-LSU. no doubt in my mind at this point. We shall see though.
Again, there is no harm done by leaving Bama out. They already had their shot at LSU, and didn't win their conference or division. IMO there is much greater potential harm done if you leave OSU out (and the possibility, albeit small) that they indeed were the best team in the country and never got a shot at LSU/Bama.

Yeah. There were many people on here saying Oregon > Alabama for a rematch. Then suddenly a rematch is now bullshite. I'm sure it wasn't any sane LSU fans saying it though. There are some crazies around here. For LSU and Alabama both.
