Alabama is good because Alabama wants to be good. President Denny knew that a great football would help out the university academically by attracting potential students and bring in money to help the university. The by-product of that is the Alabama fans passion for the team. Coaches notice, players notice and recruits notice and have for decades. It is one of the reasons why Alabama has had 5 national title winning coaches, four of which won multiple titles.
I know you do not understand, which is why it is Alabama winning national title(s) just about every decade and not Auburn. Great players grow up wanting to play for Alabama, not Auburn (ask Bo Jackson)
