I imagine this is more pressure from the Governor than anything.

You aren’t going to have that in any other SEC state, but we shall see

I think it could ultimately come down from the SEC for conference games at least. Vandy will probably do it since they are a private school and were the most draconian last year in the measures they took (allowing no fans outside students the entire season), but I do agree that if the governors have any say, that most states in this region would be safe, Tennessee and Florida especially.

Going to be hilarious when LSU gets sued by an unvaxxed person with a negative test catching Covid from a vaxxed person at an LSU game.

And how would you prove that the exact moment you caught COVID was in Tiger Stadium from a fully vaxxed person?

You guys keep a state government app that is linked to and keeps personal information on your phone?

You're already in the database once you get the vaccine (and if you test positive). I got a call from the TN Dept of Health both after I tested positive in December and after I was vaccinated in May. Not sure about LA, but here if you lose your vax card, you can request an electronic copy be e-mailed to you. I just took a picture of mine because I know I'll lose it eventually.

I will be there first time we play. Already have it setup with an LSU alum. Can't wait until OU drags their nuts all over Baton Rouge.

Brilliant move to jump into the realm of acting like you are providing a safe environment instead of just telling people that they can come at their own risk. I can see some trial lawyers already getting their ads together now for the boon to come.

People have been saying this since COVID started, that lawsuits were going to be rampant for businesses' liability as it pertains to COVID. The big problem is causation. It would be impossible to prove where someone contracted COVID, which is why these lawsuits aren't happening and/or have been unsuccesful

That's why this is so stupid. You are REQUIRING people to show they don't have the virus AND you are having an event where most of the people are vaxxed and thus won't know if they are spreading Covid. Thus you are creating an environment for someone to prove they got Covid by attending your "safe" event.

Vaccine mandates are 100% not about health. It truly is amazing where our society currently is.

We know that vaxxed people can contract and spread at pretty much the same rate as non vaxxed.

We know that having naturally occurring antibodies is by far the superior level of protection…yet it’s completely ignored.

The US bought a shite ton of doses and they want them used.

I've never been to a game at LSU. I may roll in to town just to see the confrontations with police when people are denied entry.

If you work from home and don't leave other than to get your test then go to the game and come home and have Covid you can prove it. That's why this is a really, really dumb move. You have the school creating a situation where they are acting like they have a Covid safe environment by requiring the documentation. If they just let people attend at their own risk they have no potential liability.

All Louisiana residents can get their vaccine card added to the LA Wallet app. Takes about 2 seconds to show your vaccinated status.

If every single person entering the stadium has taken those measures, yours is a far more savvy and proactive fan base than most others.

My neighbor, who is 73 years old, refused to get tested for covid when she clearly had it. I thought she was a little crazy, but if they track all this stuff, I can see why.

Her and her husband miraculously survived.

There is a lot of speculation that some of the coaches going down haven't been vaccinated. They don't have to say.

But it really doesn't matter medically speaking. This country has clearly established the medical belief that once a person has been fully vaccinated for COVID the symptoms are much less severe and the pandemic is as under control as the term allows.

The alternative is empty stadiums, so fans will do what they're told if they want to go to ball games this season. There's really nothing to argue about.

You still couldn't prove you contracted COVID at a specific event. You might could argue where you most likely could have caught the virus, but without being able to prove causation, you're not going to prevail in a lawsuit. The incubation period is 5-7 days. Unless you literally had contact with not a single person except inside the gates at said football game over the preceding week, your lawsuit is going nowhere. And that doesn't even address monetary damages, which most people who catch COVID simply aren't going to have, at least not enough for it to be financially practical for any decent attorney to even want to take that case.

You thought putting 100k people in a single space unmitigated during a pandemic was a good idea?

You must sell aspirin, pepcid, ventilators or combo.

Maybe, depends on the judge. It's just a really, really dumb move for Universities to get into the business of determining health as a reason for going to events. If you are vaxxed why should you care if others are unvaxxed? If you are unvaxxed you should realize you are taking a risk (though most unvaxxed people have had Covid and thus have natural immunity). Take vitamins. Exercise. Wash your hands. If you are sick stay home. Make your own choice on the vax. Simply no reason for schools to get involved in this and it sets a horrible precedent.

This is way, WAY too much common sense. How is someone supposed to exercise power over others with this bullshite???

The anti-vaxxers can sell their tickets and go buy more ringworm pills from the tractor supply. It’s a win-win.
