Am I the only one that thinks that LSU not having normal frontage roads is a problem?

Most arse backward way of designing highways I’ve ever seen.
Every time I drive in that state their roads give me the aids.
I mean seriously your road system is crap compared to Texas.
Please stop paying your taxes to bail out football coaches and fix your roads.
Edit. To be fair it’s Louisiana not LSU that’s the issue. But they mix the money pot so who the hell knows

LSU's roads are fine. You should see the roads around Two-Lane .

If you're talking about Texas frontage roads, they're not in most SEC states.

What an ignorant post. Been in and around college Station and Bryant and your roads are no better than anywhere else. People in glass houses…

A mixture of a high water table, soft soil, a large number of bridges to maintain, a low state gas tax rate, and a decade long federal funding gap due to LA not raising/enforcing the drinking age to 21 are contributing factors. But, yes, they are some of the shittiest roads in the states.
But, in terms of frontage roads, I think they are just more common in Texas than other states. Not sure what would make the LA one's less than normal outside of just the poor condition of LA roads overall.

Going east on 10 to Covington and grands graduation was the typical nightmare this time. Traffic was stopped 11 miles from the bridge in Baton Rouge.... 1 1/2 hours to get to the split to 12. You guys really need another bridge or at least a functioning bypass around Baton Rouge.

Texas is one gigantic traffic jam full of roads that are under construction with the dumbest mfers on earth driving on them. Y’all have a lot of lanes full of stopped vehicles. GTFO trying to brag about Texas roads.

I plan every trip across Louisiana around Baton Rouge. Not many alternative routes. One wreck and you feel like a hostage.
Taken the old bridge North of I-10 heading east but it dumps you into some pretty shady areas either plenty of lights.

I remember a guy from Louisiana moving to Oklahoma when I was in high school in the 1970s. He claimed that it cost more to build a mile of highway in Louisiana than any other state.
I don't know if it was true or not... but if he claimed that I bet a lot of Louisianans believed it.

Another bridge in a different area is in the works to move interstate traffic around Baton Rouge proper.

I have sat completely still for over an hour more times between Beaumont and Baytown than I ever have on the 2 lane basin bridge or anywhere in La. And I live in La.

You sure you didn't actually catch AIDS from fricking your boyfriend in the back seat while someone else drove on our roads?

Frontage roads have advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is it removes traffic from the interstate, a disadvantage is you have to merge with traffic as you are getting off the interstate with cars many times merging from the frontage road into your lane. Another debatable disadvantage is that smaller cities tend to have most businesses and concentrated traffic along the interstate / frontage roads instead of branching out perpendicular to the interstate, thus limiting some potential growth because there is a limited amount of frontage. It makes smaller cities look like old small towns with a series of buildings parallel to the railroad before roads.
One interstate feature I love about Texas is their use of turnarounds at exits, allowing you to exit the interstate and do a u turn without having to go through traffic lights.
