Don’t forget that OSU is also returning an offensive line that got absolutely manhandled by the likes of Indiana and Miami last season. I’m very surprised that Day decided to keep Bowen after the way he got exposed in the playoffs. You can be loaded with NFL draft picks at the RB and WR position but it ultimately means nothing if your O-line is garbage.
I can easily see OSU losing 2-3 games this season. Day has always been the definition of a finesse coach and it’ll probably end up being the reason he’ll eventually get fired.

That’s an interesting standard you’ve invented: apparently criticizing a coach repeatedly is evidence that someone is “hard to be around,” rather than evidence that they consistently disagree with the job the coach is doing.

Have you never repeatedly complained about a coach? A coordinator? A player? An athletic director? An official? If you have, were you “bitching like they destroyed your life,” or did you simply believe your criticism was justified?
Because that’s the problem with your argument. You aren’t actually disputing anything I’ve said about Sark. You’re criticizing the frequency with which I’ve said it. But frequency has absolutely nothing to do with whether an argument is right or wrong. If the same concern continues to exist, there is nothing intellectually inconsistent about continuing to point it out.
And I suspect the real litmus test here isn’t “people shouldn’t repeatedly criticize coaches.” It’s “people shouldn’t repeatedly criticize a coach I like.”
That’s not a principle. That’s fandom.
I don’t dislike Sark personally. I don’t know the man. I judge him by exactly the same standard I would want used for any Texas coach: recruiting, player development, game management, results, championships, and whether the program performs at the level its talent and resources should reasonably produce.
You’re perfectly free to weigh those things differently and conclude Sark is doing a great job. Make that argument. Tell me where my assessment of him is wrong.
But “you criticize him too much” isn’t a rebuttal to the criticism. It’s just complaining that someone you disagree with keeps making it.

I think Sarkisian is gonna win a national title but since you clearly don’t like him even after he’s made this program elite again after Tom Herman and Charlie Strong and the end of the Mac Brown era which were all terrible.

Texas covers the 1.5 easy against Ohio State and I would be amazed if Oklahoma doesn’t cover the 6.5 against Michigan. I’m thinking about taking all my winnings from week one and putting them on Oklahoma to cover and then taking the winnings from that and putting it on Texas to cover, I think Texas is going to dominate Ohio State just my instincts and they’re rarely wrong but we’ll see. I’m excited for the game, I’m leaving work early to watch it.

I like Sark and he’s generally done a very good job, but I also think his lack of commitment to have a great running game is the weakest link right now. “All gas no brakes” is fine but sometimes you just need to be able to impose your will and grind a defense down in the 4th quarter. Sark prefers a high tech, finesse blocking scheme which isn’t the mentality needed to run the ball. Hope he proves me wrong but as good as the offense was, it’s inexplicable that Texas State would win TOP and out rush Texas. It’s vintage Sark though and it’s the weak link.

As for 33, everyone ought to know by now he's the kind of guy that would f-ck a person in the arse and not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around. Everyone needs to be watching him.

I felt a lot better last Saturday about our O line, receiver options with sticky hands, and Arch having a solid opening game. Plus our opener was a pretty clean game for us. Penalties were killing us last year.
We have some good running backs this season also, who can catch the ball. Sark’s got a lot of fun play calling options. Plenty for an opposing defensive coordinator to worry about.
OSU is obviously a good team. I think our guys will be super motivated, and our crowd will be into it. Should be a great game - I’m hopeful that we can beat OSU this year.
