Even if we only offered 1 option, technically there are infinite numbers between 0 and 1 but I don't think that's the direction he was going with that.

Perhaps Alleva offered a luxury car?
We'll never know.

The entire country knows that Florida did not want to play that game.

The fan base is changing words. What Alleva said was "Monday wasn't really discussed, but we could have made it happen "

I'm over all this nonsense. It's a crappy situation that has been created but could have been avoided and it's going to inconvenience a lot of people, no matter what the solution is.

All sarcasm aside, I don't know what else to tell you ... LSU wanted to play this weekend, Florida did not.

Ask Florida what their reason are, because I can't speak for them. I'm only aware that LSU was willing to play anywhere at anytime this weekend, and Joe Alleva has said exactly that to the media, to Florida, and to the commissioner.

Joe Alleva: "Florida would not budge. We were ready to play."

quote:

Staples/SI: "LSU also offered options to play in Gainesville on Sunday or Monday." LINK

God damn that beat down in tiger stadium last week sure does have your arse some kind of chapped.

Alleva has said many times that he would have done "anything" to get this game played this week. Which includes playing Monday.

My suggestion to you would be to get fricked.

Are you really generalizing an entire fanbase off of one or two poster's comments? You're better than that.

Speaking of embarrassing...

It's meaningless pablum to say "we would've done anything to get the game in." Foley could say the same thing and it would be meaningless. It's simply posturing.

Have you been watching the Rant lately?

Embarrassing is the tantrum LSU is throwing right now. Just because UF made LSU their bitch isn't a reason to bawl so bad.

Ok, so this is where you're at in this thread now... in a thread YOU made about what's being said, you now say that what they say is irrelevant and doesn't matter because it's posturing.

There's obviously no getting through to you.

Florida didn't want to play this game this weekend, and the game did not get played. Simple as that.

He never replies to my comment about this whole thread being nit-picky at best.

I don't get what his deal is

The whole argument is "nit-picky." Responding to nit-picky false claims will be nit picky by default.

No. "We would do anything to get the game in" isn't a specific claim. It's a general claim. I'm not sure you can understand much of this. Bless your heart.

You still doubt my assertion you post about this more than LSU fans?

UF has given no interviews or statements about what efforts they made to get this game played.

Now the "simple solution" is to have LSU give up a home game due a natural disaster in an opposing teams stadium. I'm just in shock that it's so casually proposed.

Hurricane hits Florida:

LSU loses one football game and a home football game

Makes total sense!

808bass all weekend:

LSU fans: We could've played Saturday
808: But you didn't offer Monday
LSU fans: This is a direct result of UF being incompetent and purposely dragging their feet
808: But you didn't offer Monday
LSU fans: There's no reason why we couldn't play today like UGA-SC
808: But you didn't offer Monday
LSU fans: Florida never offered 11/19
808: But you didn't offer Monday
LSU fans: Why can't we play today?
808: But you didn't offer Monday

Ok, so we didn't officially "offer" for Florida to host us on Monday. I guess 808bass was right after all, lol.

quote:

LSU offered a Florida a slew of things, Alleva said. The Tigers offered to host the game on Saturday or Sunday and would have hosted it on Monday, too, he said. They offered to provide transportation to Florida to Baton Rouge or a neutral site. They offered to play the game in Gainesville on Sunday, when the hurricane would be long through the area. Also in the path of the storm is the Georgia-South Carolina game in Columbia, South Carolina. That game was moved to Sunday, the SEC office announced Thursday night. “I suggested we play the game on Sunday in front of nobody if there was no police available,” Alleva said. Florida declined all of LSU’s options.
