You really think your doofus remarks bother us Auburn fans don't ya??

I would not expect it to bother auburn fans, of course not. That doesn't negate the very real fact that the services of the gopher-faced whore monger are outdated and kids don't have to give him a cut of the money any longer to get laid on demand.

So... what you are saying is that you are definitely not concerned with the current status of your program/recruiting?? Be honest

August 1st holds significance in college football due to its connection to recruiting and roster management changes under the new NCAA model. (AI's answer)

It’s the first official day contracts can be offered in writing. Everything right now is verbal contracts.

Auburn isn’t offering verbal contracts at the moment because there is a possibility that a lot of the current verbal contracts won’t be obtainable with a potential salary cap.

Auburn’s lawyers have interpreted that there will be a salary cap and all of these current high school players committed to schools under huge verbal guarantees means next to nothing.

None whatsoever.

If this was the NBA or NFL, for example, a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) goes into effect on August 1st while all of the players currently committed are using verbal offers from the old Wild West system.

Seismic changes are about to happen.

“We’re going by what we believe is an accurate interpretation (of the House settlement),” Freeze said as part of an answer about recruiting. “It’s not really to our advantage to what we’re doing because I think others are operating in a different manner.”

So they’re cheating

That’s a hell of a logical leap on the writer’s part.

Pretty sure Hugh knows as well as anyone that we’re dealing with the Wild West right now, and that cheating is now essentially an undefined figment lol.

He's clearly telling the truth, or Auburn would be doing better. This simply rings true.

Agreed. He’s taking a gamble on some legislation coming down the pike and Auburn is playing it conservatively.

No where in that statement does he accuse others of cheating lol. We’re just allocating funds more conservatively than most with the expectation that something is coming that limits what everyone is doing.

Hugh Freeze is the only top 25 paid coach who has coached multiple seasons at his current school who does not have a single winning season at that school.

The Barners aren't getting the Ole Miss version. It was disconcerting to hear this guy throwing his QB under the bus after every loss. Maybe why recruiting doesn't have the same vibe this time around.
