Ok... I hate to say this... but you need throw these bites back. Its just too easy fishing in those waters.

Only a moron would bite on this one. Which, sadly, explains why you had so many bites.

Bama (a-hole Paul Bryant, Jr., in particular) blocked UAB from hiring Jimbo Fisher the year before he went to FSU. That would have upgraded the UAB program, which is why Baby Bear blocked it.

The history of UAB football is the history of UA putting every obstacle possible in its way.

LULZ, they didn't block Fisher they blocked the doubling of the budgeted salary mere months after UAB's president agreed to hold down some costs to get the football budget out of the red.

Those guys couldn't have cared less about the impact of someone who'd never been a head coach.

Hell, you don't even have the right conspiracy theory. You're supposed to say they blocked it so Saban could bring him to Tuscaloosa, (even though Alabama hadn't hired Saban yet). You're straying from the party line.

No, they blocked Fisher to prevent the program from moving forward. They knew he had a chance to succeed and that is something they didn't want to happen. There were alumni who were ready to write the check and it would have cause enough excitement to get them in the black the first month.

I still think the stadium they are wanting to build is too large.

Since you seem so concerned with Jimbo Fisher's employment, you should convince au to field a team at aum and THEY can hire Fisher. AUM could play in the Cramton Bowl and solve two problems at once.

If it was just UAB football, then yeah. But if you're wanting a general use stadium for a city, I think you have to go at least 45k.

It's almost comical seeing you write this stuff like this. Fisher would have been a good hire, but there were no checks ever written, just some non-binding promises by people that they would come up with the extra money. There was certainly no magical influx of money coming to put them in the black in less than a month.

Instead of balancing the athletic budget like she was told, Garrison went out and spent even more money and told the board, "well, some other people have promised to pay for it".

This is the same president who had no qualms about helping her married boyfriend misuse state of Tennessee tax dollars to carry on their affair, and who oversaw multiple research frauds and lawsuits during her tenure.

Hell, if the board has ever done anything to hold UAB back, it was not firing Garrison as soon as her sex scandal broke out of fear of another lawsuit (Reynolds), and allowing her to continue on ineptly for another 9 years.

Your hero Finebaum confirmed this Timeshare. And we all know that he is as close to the Bammer Program than any of the rest of the sidewalk rednecks that post on this site.
He even talked in depth on how Bear Jr pushed to hire one of Daddy's former players. Finebaum was torn between his favorite team and his loyalty to some of his local friends.

Like I said Airbnb, Finebaum is as connected to UAt as anyone in the media. The PTB have used him as a mouthpiece for the University for years and when he says something about Saban or UAt, you can write it down. He doesn't know shite about the rest of the league, but his lips and chin are covered with crimson and white.

Sorry Airbnb, but if you know anything about Finebaum and his Bama connections, you would know it is true. He knew about Wimp and Mike Dubose before anyone. He knew all about Logon Young when most of the other fans wanted to vote him Booster of the Year. He has a loyalty to some Bammers who got him his radio jobs and who also pushed him to the SECN. You are either stupid or lying if you do not know what I am talking about. It is hard to tell with you.

Mike Slide sp the last com of the sec had a lot to do with Paul getting the SEC job. At one time they had houses next to one another at Shoal Creek.

Finebaum was deeply rooted at the SECHQ long before Slive took over.
