I got a chill down my spine just seeing the size of that tornado. God bless the families and friends who lost loved ones in the storm.

Good god. I agree with you sadly. I think this ones gonna end up killing over 300.
Freakin bs. Just talked to my mom who visited one of her businesses off 15th. Massive damage.

Alabama tornado discussion and links
Could someone change the title to Alabama AND Mississippi tornado discussion
We actually had 32 people killed in Mississippi and millions and millions of dollars of damage and destruction as well.
Can you help out with any links for donations or volunteering? I will try and update my check-in thread if you can. I have been unable to find any for MS and TN

My cousins live in Pleasant Grove. Their house is just gone. He wasn't home and his wife has a broken arm and ribs. As of this morning, we're still not sure what hospital she was taken to.

Thoughts and prayers to the folks in Tuscaloosa and everywhere else hit by tornadoes. I lived in OKC for a few years and was there for really bad tornadoes in 1999 - all you can do is get under ground, to a shelter, or under a mattress.

Two high schools in Mississippi were completely destroyed, Smithville and East Webster. Both are about 30-45 miles from Starkville.
I heard that the Seniors at both schools are done for the year and will not have to take final exams.

GOV has requested expedited assistance from the FED Gov...The President is sending Fugate to assess the situation
Reporter asked loaded question about the tornados and global warming/climate change..to which Fugate replied "Actually what we are seeing here is something called 'Spring time'. They don't call that part of Alabama 'Tornado Alley' because of the sandy beaches.."
AWESOME ANSWER

I am so sorry to hear this. I'm glad she made it through, though.
My thoughts are with everyone all over the south and their families. I can't remember ever seeing devastation like this from tornadoes covering such a broad area.

I'm hearing this part of Mississippi was hit very hard. Give us any fatality updates from this area that you hear about.

Wow just wow. My thoughts and prayers are with all back in Alabama. Be safe to those in the impact areas.
This puts into perspective how petty a heated rivalry can be. I hope we all can tone it down and make it more fun, competitive and civil. God bless
ETA:these well wished are for all in the South and SouthEast
