I just saw that headline like 2 days ago. I guess it didn't actually prove to be true.
Bama needs to offer 4 million if they want Marshall. It could certainly happen, and it would suck as an LSU fan

@MattNorlander: Gregg Marshall on @jimrome: "I haven't spoke to Bama. If Alabama is interested in some crazy offer, we will listen. But it will take a lot."
Could you imagine the SECw with Howland, Marshall, and Pearl. Throw in Cal, Donovan, and Martin and the SEC probably has the most high profiled coaches of any conference.

Bama is gonna get as crazy as they need to.
The $3m mark is a starting point to discussion.
They will provide him with a private plane, a recruiting budget on par with the likes of John Calipari, every resource imaginable will be at his disposal.

What if he does come? I wasn't that familiar with him , so I looked up his record. This is the 2nd time he has made it past the round of 32 in his entire coaching career. I find it sort of amusing that Bama is offering so much to a guy with that record in the first place

I like Johnny Jones, but I'd have a mini melt of Bama pulled it off.
It was well known that Tony Bennett's wife, a BR native, wanted to come back home while they were at Wazzu. LSU went with Trent Johnson instead. Just hoping LSU didn't miss that window

So everything you've said over the past few days has been based off not knowing who he is?

If these discussions go along the same path as the Saban discussions, you just give the man whatever he wants and call it a day.

That is one more time than your boy Pearl had before UT scooped him up. I think that worked out all right for them.
You conveniently made no mention of his final 4 either.

Honestly, I hope we walk in with a copy of Saban's first contract with us. IIRC, it was for $4 mil with a ton of perks.

You've filled this thread with idiotic comments for two days and don't know who Gregg Marshall is? Jesus Christ.

He's not coming, he's not coming, you're stupid...
Now suddenly the message pivots to "It's amusing that you're offering so much money to him".

You mean at Winthrop, where his teams were almost always seeded 14, 15, or 16, he wasn't able to advance in the tourney? Weird. Of course, he did take a 12 seed at Winthrop and knock of a 5 seed by 10 points.
At WSU he's 7-3 in the NCAA tournament. That's not too shabby. He's also got a Final Four appearance, a #1 seed, and an undefeated regular season on his resume. You must not have "looked up his record" very thoroughly...or maybe you were just selective to your perpetual agenda of hating Bama more than you love AU. It's cool. We get that about you.

You mean 7-3 in the NCAA tourney, a final four appearance, an undefeated regular season (which ended only when he lost by 2 to UK in the tourney), and is widely regarded as one of the top 10 coaches in the country? That guy?
He also doesn't have NCAA violations or a show cause on his resume, either.

You have shite all over this thread for two days, criticizing and scrutinizing the possibilty of UA hiring a coach that you didn't even know a damn thing about?
