That was more so because you acted as if Howland would have chosen Bama at the drop of a hat over State if Bama had given him the time of day.
But we all get touchy when dealing with our schools. Just as you've caught feelings because I named some very rational reasons why Marshall wouldn't leave Wichita.

All of this "Marshall isn't going to bammer" talk reminds me of a few years ago when Mal Moore was crazy enough to think he could lure Saban by throwing a shite ton of money at him.
Maybe Bama has a shot at Marshall and maybe they don't but all of this protesting the mere thought of it screams one thing.
Fear

Alabama fans are delusional about what their basketball program is. They are also delusional about how much money their school has because they are fixated only on athletic department revenues.
There are 64 or 65 teams in power 5 conferences. Probably half those teams could raise more money than bama through private donations if the school was really committed toward raising a lot of money

so you guys are comparing the second worst program in the SEC, to a program that has a winning record against all SEC members other than UK? You think that's a legit comparison?
MY god this place needs to be firebombed for the gene pool's sake.

You don't have to hate Bama at all to believe that statement. If they could get their big money alumni on board, the following schools could definitely raise more money through private donations:
Every school in the big 10. That is like 14 schools all by itself
The California PAC 12 schools and Oregon
North Carolina and Virginia out of the ACC probably could
Texas and Okllahoma State. The latter strictly because of T Boone Pickens. Possibly 1 or more of the other Texas Big 12 schools as well
Vanderbilt, Florida, and A&M all could in the SEC
The biggest probem you would have is getting some of those schools to be committed to athletic glory the same way Bama is
There are also a handful of other schools that could possibly raise more money that I didn't include

I don't know each school's history in each sport, so I'm not going to comment on that, but I wouldn't imagine that SEC Basketball is as good as SEC football historically. I don't think comparing where each are ranked in the SEC is a fair representation of where they are ranked on a national level.

We are not delusional about the state of our basketball program which is why Grant got fired and we are prepared to drop big $$$ on both a coach and facilities to make it elite.
Bama is doing very well thank you in the AD department, as much revenue and profitability as anyone not named Texas. We have record enrollment and endowement dollars. Bama punches above its weight in all areas
You are correct about the commitment issue and if Bama becomes as committed to basketball as we are to the football program, watch out.
