Alabama just put out a bag of money and they are hiding behind a bush waiting to see who will grab it.

They sell a lot of Porsches and Ferraris for that same reason, no?

Honestly I'm a little disappointed Bama is low-balling him. I feel like even Wichita could match that offer. I was thinking more 3.75 or 4 to get him to choose bama over a traditional powerhouse

I guess crazier things have happened though

Those cars are already performing at a high level.

i feel like Marshall would be taking a big risk with his future at UA, from what i`ve read he seems a reserved quite type guy and i believe in the state of Alabama to get your program noticed it help`s to have a big personality,as in Pearl, Wimp, Sonny Smith etc.

It wouldn't be a small difference in money. It would be almost double his current salary with no real ceiling. And ego follows money. I'll be surprised if he takes the Bama job, too. But they're making a legit run at him. If they didn't, the Rant would be lined up telling them they're stupid for not making a run at him.

WSU is not a poor school. They are going to match or come close to whatever Bama offers. By the time you consider future income, taxes and perks, you might be surprised how much of a difference there is. For Bama to get him, it will have to be close to Saban's salary.

Allegory, analogy, comparison. Whatever you want to call it, you didn't get it.

They aren't the same things. An allegory is a long extended metaphor. Like Plato's Allegory of the Cave.

Wichita St has the money to match $3 million if needed. They have the backing to make it happen.

WSU plays in Charles Koch Arena and Charles Koch and family live in Wichita... they got all the money they need if asked.

So you agree that the earlier statement by a different shitty Auburn poster was incorrect.

Forgot about the Koch bros living in Wichita. Yeah, it will take a blue blood or high ceiling program to lure Marshall.

My statement was a reference to the great quest we all endure to attract what it is we truly want. It certainly was allegorical in nature and just because I didn't narrate the entire plot in my post the point SHOULD have been easily conveyed to anyone with a working brain. Like I said before, you didn't get it.

The Bama job is career suicide.

A dude as smart as Marshall is not going to a B-team program when his stock is as high as it could possibly be.

He'll easily get 3-4 Million from a legit, national power in the 2-3 years.

He's going to look at Gottfried and Grant and say F THAT.

He ain't worth that kind of money even if he wins the championship.

Marshall would be on the "list" when Cal decides to hang it up. It will be Sean Miller…then Marshall, then Smart.
