The committee dropped one loss SMU 2 spots out of the playoff for losing their conference game to Clemson by only 3 points last season.

No they didn't - SMU was kept in the playoffs after losing, they just dropped them enough to justify Clemson being a higher seed.

SMU ended up as the 11 seed and lost to Penn State in the first round, 38-10.

The good ol' debate strategy of "making shite up," huh?

Alabama probably could have lost by less points if it didn't decide to go for the win on 4th and 2 and give up the other 7.

So that's what Alabama should have been doing? Playing to lose by less instead of playing to win?

Sounds like it's just another sign of a shitty system. "oh we could play to win, but lets punt the ball away so we lose by 7 less points and make the playoffs".

LSU fans need like 10 years of 10-win Bama seasons before they can fully heal.
Won’t help. Battered Aggy syndrome has nothing on their Bama insecurities.

The SEC championship game I was watching could have easily been 35-0. Negative yards rushing. And you could have lost by less. lol

Shouldn't matter about the margin - an L is an L. There are other teams with less losses - they should be in ahead of Bama.

Alabama defense did pretty well, just got screwed by field position due to offensive mistakes(again).

Georgia scored on drives of 21, 57, 40 and 12(because of Alabama going for it). They punted 7 times.

The offense let us down. We have multiple starters out and such, but Ty played like shite. He had time, it wasn't like the other games. He just missed throws, threw the pick, etc.

Excuses, excuses. My dog ate my homework.

Bama got worked and was lucky, in this game, to score. UGA was the better team and I think Kirby has unlocked the cheat codes moving forward.

Yes, Georgia was the better team. Nobody said Alabama deserves to be #1.

If it was up to me there would be no playoffs, we would have a NCG between Indiana and Georgia, everyone else would get a bowl and I would tell them to deal with it if they didn't like it.

But instead, we have 12 team playoffs, and Alabama is a top10 team.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I don't think they are a top 10 team.

Alabama is the only team in playoff contention with a top10 strength of schedule. Oklahoma is next with a top20 SoS at #19.

Most of the other teams has SoS in the 30's, 40's and 50's.

Oklahoma is 10-2 and Vandy is 10-2 should go to the playoffs.....

Bama at 10-3 should not. If Bama goes then Texas should at 9-3 and so should Ok and Vandy.

Bama has to go bowling.

They did get drummed by 2 of those 3 teams, but they did manage to squeeze out a win earlier against one of those teams. It was @ Georgia too if I remember correctly. It’s damn hard to beat a good football team twice in the same year. I’m going to split the difference between those two games and just count them as a single semi close loss to Georgia.

So now we look at the Oklahoma game. That was a close game against a quality opponent. It’s a loss but a quality loss. Not going to count that against them too bad.

So far it’s looking good for Bama to make a case to be in the playoffs.

Let’s take a look at their loss to Florida State. At first look, one sees that score and their first instinct is to cringe. But let’s not jump so quickly to that conclusion. It is, after all, the first game of the season and…. and….

Oh who am I kidding? No! frick no! No way Bama belongs anywhere near the playoffs. That loss to Florida State alone would make it questionable if you’d gone undefeated the rest of the season, but add getting dick smacked in the forehead in the SEC championship? Yeah?! No! Sit down and STFU and join the rest of us in “this was a shitty season” land.

OP is like all of you LSU folks. Consistently jealous of Alabama football. We are getting in today. And we will go play A&M. And who knows what team will show up. The tean that beat UGA or the team that lost to them. We get a lot of people back in 2 weeks. Anything can happen.

But but Ty Simpson said BAMA is the best offense in the country.

It's on a YouTube video.

LMAO.

You are correct that SMU still made the playoff. But they were dropped below a team that didn't play in their CCG because of the loss (dropping below Indiana who didn't play in the Big 10 CCG last season).

So there is a precedent for dropping a team losing their CCG below a team that didn't play... which is punishing the team that played in a CCG and lost.

We can argue if it SHOULD happen... but not that it has happened.

Alabama will be in, and there’s not a single fricking thing you can do about it.

Enjoy the Music City Bowl.

Means nothing if you didn't win enough games.
