To an extent you have a point; but you're talking losing two 1st round draft picks late in the season that accounted for a bulk of your offensive success. The backups came in and did not perform.
Injuries are part of the game and can cost a team a championship. It happens. Alabama has benefited from it and all champions have benefitted from injury luck. It's part of the game.

We used to be the fanbase writing/responding to threads about how close we were and if only….
Close calls and good fortune have been part of championship resumes since the beginning of time.
Winning on the scoreboard is the only thing that counts. And that counts forever!

No fluke, it was a beatdown.
It was a fluke if you saw all of those 14 other bama games.

probably Bama scorching them again because Georgia was struggling to stop Bama's passing game, in particular Bryce to Jamison.
The pace of scoring points was not the same.

If by several, you mean one. He went to Texas for a bit.

That's when Bryce hit Jacorey Brooks, who had a step on the DB, inside the UGA 5..Brooks of course dropped it.
It wasn’t inside the 5, and it wasn’t a good pass.

You should stop posting here bc 4 days ago you said TCU would wipe the floor with Georgia. 2 weeks ago you said Ohio State would beat Georgia. Your opinion means dick. And whatever you say, the opposite appears to be reality.

I'm saying they would beat TCU, the same as they did Kansas St.
Then why couldn’t they beat texas like that?

Haha, no TCU was a better team than Bama on paper when the decisions were made to put teams in the playoff. Everyone expected Michigan to blow TCU out, that did not happen. That win alone validates TCU's inclusion in the playoff.

TCU was never anything more than a top 15 team and everyone who watched them knew that. Hell, the committee knew that early on but then fans whined and they gave people what they wanted. After that the CFP wasn't going to flip flop. TCU was locked in.

AND YET... they didn't get it done vs Tennessee and LSU. Your hypothetical is denied.

who was better than Alabama?
Tennessee and LSU. If bama is better than them they should have easily beat them right?

It just goes back to the question of taking the best resume or the best team.
Oftentimes those two encompass the same four teams, but oftentimes it doesn’t.
You couldn’t leave TCU out, but I’d take Bama over TCU on a neutral field at the end of the season.

A healthy Tennessee would be a great choice.
And had they not gotten nuked from orbit by SCar and run out of Athens on a rail, we might've seen something special. But they did, and you're stuck with ANOTHER Dawg championship.

So take them off the field when you’re up big so the backups get game experience and are ready to perform when called upon. Oh wait, y’all were never up big last year as you struggled to beat mediocre teams like Auburn.

It’s based on the most deserving, not the best. TCU was more deserving than Alabama.

TCU was more deserving because they played nobody and beat nobody? As long as that is the criteria then we will continue to have crappy title games and the fans will lose interest quickly.

Because they didn’t lose two. It’s very important to not lose two.

They are a power 5 team who won every regular season game in their schedule. They beat 5 top 25 teams and then beat Michigan once they got into the playoffs.

Who cares. I want to see the best teams play. Not horseshite like TCU. Alabama crushed KSU who beat TCU.

You're gonna have a hard time "discussing" this with most folks around here, although their 2 losses were on the road, and on the last play of both games.
The truth is most all of them would take Alabama over the two teams on a neutral field if their lives depended on it...but, whatever.

Alabama was very likely the 2nd or 3rd best team this year, but if you’re going to bother with competition, results have to matter.
UGA outplayed AL for 115 of 120 minutes in the 2017 NC and 2018 SECC. Does it matter? No. They didn’t make the plays to win and AL did.
A million micro-breaks go into any football game and you can hypothetical yourself into any outcome you like.
The only one that counts is the final score within the rules.
