Yeah I know they are cheap but if gold and the time to make and set plus cost. It adds up quick. My business has a custom jewelry division, so I have an idea of general cost.

Eta. Ftr this is nothing about bama I said the same thing about auburns.

That gold is out of date. I thought white gold was in? Ladies?

My best friend is married to a jeweler, and I've gone to a few shows with them and consulted a little bit, so I know it pretty well too.

You can go look on Wal-Mart.com and see the ugly arse engagement rings for $279 that are made of diamonds and 10K gold. It's not all that different.

Depends on the jewelry. For engagement rings, Definitely a white metal. That said, platinum FTW.

But these rings are about five times the size in mass at least. They are huge and weigh a lot. They are solid and not hollow.

Maybe they go down to 9K. I know gold is high, but the cost of the stones is negligible, except maybe the slightly bigger one. I think with wholesale, it's not impossible to stay within budget. I'm not saying they necessarily do, but it's probably close enough to make it work.

ETA: In 2010, the National Championship ring could cost as much as $415. I don't know if they've changed it.

Very nice. Any reference to 21-0 or the 50 yard line?

I liked the 2009 one better. Never been a fan of putting the trophy on there. But the players wanted it and earned it, so good for them

For some reason the diamonds on the edge reminds me of BDS

Nice. I think I like the 09 rings better.

ETA: I like all the rings tho. I hope Saban is a lot like Phil Jackson and can wear a ring on every finger.

ETA2: they get two rings though, correct ?

One thing I liked about the 2009 one is the 13 stones arojnd the edge, and(if im counting right) 37 stones in the 'A' for the 37 points scored in the NC. Doesn't look like the new one has anything like that

Seems like I remember in 09 that UA could spend $1200 on 3 rings. If they only have one ring made can they spend all $1200 on it? Or did I just dream that.

I know it does. They usually do. I'm talking about the design on the face of the ring. It's not important, it was just a nice touch thar I liked
