No. I don't. Because we are talking about the entire team.
The 2011 defense gave up like 8 points a game but wouldn't do that in 2020. The game is too different now. Plus it's offense would not be able to keep up.

Legitimately none of the CFP participants had a good defense but Alabama's at least got to something you'd call passable considering the pressure their own offense put on teams. They locked up the outside receivers pretty well all year, mostly getting chewed up with interior passing due to mediocre linebacker and safety play. Once Barmore got healthy and Will Anderson figured it out on the job, they had a good pass rush to go with that lockdown perimeter CB play. Alabama forced you to pass over the middle of the field to win and a lot of college teams struggle with that area of the field.
I really underrated how the things Fields does well were kinda contained by Alabama's few strengths...and that was a big reason OSU looked kinda pedestrian. By the same token, Trask and his WR corp can dice you up with in-breaking routes over the middle of the field and mismatch problems when you get a nickel safety/corner on their best WR in the slot.
Back to your question about top P5 defenses:

A lot of Big Ten teams but the Big Ten was poor this year and almost all of them played less than their 8 scheduled games...sometimes significantly less.
