I’m not sure why you felt the need to contribute to this conversation? That’s all. Auburn hasn’t been relevant since 2013
Folks, we are now into day 2 of the "12 Days of Melting".

Imagine letting your entire existence and feelings of self worth be dictated by the results of a sports team that you devote every waking second of your day worshipping.

You put butter and cheese to shame with your ability to melt so easily.

That said, the entertainment value that you and your fellow melting losers provide is priceless and is very much appreciated.

When you lost to Vandy, that was a massive sh*t seed. Don't be surprised, then, that it turned into a massive sh*t weed.

ND lost to Northern IL and is hosting.

Ohio State lost at home to 7-5 Michigan and is also hosting.

I think you're on to a really good point there.

Out of curiosity....what were the other two losses for those teams?

And this is the problem right here. We need to stop pretending that all conferences are created equal.
They don’t pretend that all conferences are equal. The G5 is only guaranteed one spot instead of five.

Why should they stay home while a three loss team goes?

asking this question while simultaneously arguing that a three loss team should be in over a one loss team.

Our ability to complain evaporated in Nashville and Norman.

You lost three SEC games.

You’re going bowling, son.

The great Mike Leach long ago advocated for a minimum 16 team FBS football playoff, and I agree.

If you lose 3 games and cannot defeat the team that finished 13th in the SEC in the 2nd to last week of the regular season, I think it’s safe to say you do not deserve to be in the 12 team playoffs.

And those very reasons are why they shouldn't be ranked 11th. F*ckd up system.

Number 16 Clemson won their conference championship game.
Number 11 Alabama didn't even play in theirs.

Who gives a frick? Congratulations to them for being the best shitty team from their shitty conference!

There is no comparison between the SEC and ACC. None. It's a stupid arse argument within a stupid arse system that rewards shitty teams with shitty schedules who play and beat no one.

This is the point I’m making. I’m arguing for the SEC. These slick brains from LSU and Auburn, and even some Ole Miss fans don’t realize it. Fact is, if you’re picking the 12 best teams, the SEC should’ve had 6. Ole Miss and South Carolina should be in too. But the system is trying to make it out like the ACC and Big 12 are somehow relevant. Fact is, they’re not

South Carolina just beat Clemson at their place and would of crushed SMU. You set up a stupid system you get stupid results.

It is safe to say that South Carolina, Bama, Or Ole Miss would take Clemson and SMU behind the wood shed. SOS should matter.

Perhaps if Alabama won the games that mattered they’d be in the playoffs

No. Big 4 conf champs in.

I don’t care enough to take a side n this overall argument, but I’m interested in understanding who the Big 4 are. Seems to me that the committee valued the Mountain West as conference #3.

I wonder what selection process would be perfect? I always hear about the NFL being settled on the field and being completely objective. Well even in the NFL the better teams have been left out of the playoffs. No matter what, a weaker team may get the nod over a higher ranked teams. They need to change the rules and state conference champs don’t matter .

Shoulda just stayed with the four team playoff. If the goal is to find the best team then surely one of the four top ranked teams is indeed that team. Expanding to 12 teams was done with one thing in mind - making more money for the TV networks and their advertisers.

Until every single team is admitted to a 120+ team playoff, someone is gonna bitch about being unfairly left out.

Get over it. Football is not basketball. College football is not the NFL (at least not entirely yet). Should've been left at four teams.

But there is. They are equal in terms of partnership in NCAA football. All of the conferences must be equal, or the NCAA would get slapped with anti-trust violations.

You're too emotional right now to be rational, maybe you should take some time.
