Scott Cochran

I don’t think he has a damn thing to do with it. Kids play football bc it’s fun. I dont think there is much fun with Saban’s “process.”

His process has worked for 18 years in the SEC. He still signs elite talent.

Bama fans need to take a cue from their Auburn brethren and just fade into the background now. Your relevance is over for this year and nobody cares about your day to day problems.

Shame; if we were in the SEC Easy, we'd still be undefeated and prepping to play LSU in the SECCG.

Ah well.

That many injuries isn't just bad luck. Could be overtraining.

Maybe a bad batch of deer antler spray or HGH? Happens to meth and heroin addicts all the time.

Yep. And as usual, they didn’t get flagged for it either.

But what’s changed? It’s the same strength and conditioning staff and medical staff that Alabama has had since 2007. Scott Cochran and Jeff Allen has been mainstays.

If I had the answer I'd be happy to share it. I do know that the injuries have steadily begun to increase when Alabama began to recruit and develop a more "athletic" type of defensive front 7. Maybe something changed in the S&C program at that time that is leading to more injuries. Like I said, I have no evidence nor does anyone else that I'm aware of. It's just pretty difficult to say that "bad luck" is the reason why many key Alabama defenders have gone down to injury the last 5 or so years.

It may have something to do with all the extra games and practices Bama has had over the past few years because of the playoffs. Their players are taking more physical abuse than others that don’t have those extra times on the field. It adds up.

State?

How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?... Yeah... Coach woulda put me in fourth quarter, we would've been state champions. No doubt. No doubt in my mind.

It's real...We'd finish the seasons using walkon offensive linemen and burning what few redshirts we had to field a OL the last 2-3 games.

And that shows.

Who don’t do much after their college careers due to wear and tear or busting out.

But, yes, “Saban’s short term college “process” does wonders, maybe not later in life.

Sucks for them this year but will pay huge dividends for them the next few seasons.

it's a polarizing topic amongst Bama fans, but when you have THIS many high profile players at key positions going down year after year, you can't just chalk it up 100% to bad luck. There is a common denominator somewhere and it's not random chance.
_________________________________________________________

this is always a possibility, but in this instance I don't think so. Most of your guys were hurt early on-- how many were down before the first game? I don't remember, but I remember thinking it was a big number... I think after a physical game like LSU/Ala each team is physically exhausted during the following game and rack up more injuries due to exhaustion and poor form. It's been happening for years. Its just wild how many serious injuries Bama suffered, both before the season and during Miss State.
Tua's injury was just a freak thing. Wish him the best.
