So reading what happened, two large bets were placed at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati on LSU. Bama almost won the game so I dont think anyone was throwing it but someone with inside information placed the bets.
The Bama game 1 starting pitcher was a late scratch. A couple of larger than usual bets went out for Bama to lose a little before the announcement was made. Apparently it was done by a player or the info was passed along by a player. They just so happen to have 1 player from Ohio(a pitcher).

And I thought he was just on the phone with the bullpen before the game

If that’s true then this is a non story. There is no chance LSU threw this game or let them even sort of come back.

I’m with you. This shite is so fricking dumb and I’m not exactly a bama fan either.

It has nothing to do with the game being fixed or not, it’s insider info about bamas pitchers.

I gave up college baseball betting. It was easy in the beginning of the season (or I was lucky) but now it is a complete mad house. I wouldn’t have put a large sum on LSU to win this game regardless of who bama had pitching and I still figured there was a 85% chance they won.

My guess is the issue isn’t that a bet got placed by a third party but that Bohannon knew that a player was involved and did not say anything about it or denied knowing about what was going on.
And for those that are asking why the state gaming commission shut down bets, my guess is that this is not the first time bets were placed in that state in a “large” amount right before information came out to the public, ie before the lines were adjusted, that would impact Bama.
That still falls into how the termination statement was worded.

I thought I had read that there was suspicious activity the series or 2 before the game as well. Maybe the amount isn't what triggered it but multiple events with a pattern?

At some point Byrne is gonna get the axe as well. Oats basketball program full of murderers, baseball coach tipping off gamblers. WTH Byrne is the Athletic Director. Alabama has proven they have zero institutional control in the AD.

I believe it’s also the fact that they are not allowed to waive out of state tuition either. With only partial scholarships, baseball can be expensive to play if you’re not from Alabama. Auburn has the same problem.

Now that we aren’t throwing games, SEC is fricked.

It's kind of hilarious that a $100k bet on a regular season college baseball game is itself suspicious. No one bets that kind of money on a regular season college baseball game. I'm sure it was an auto-flag.

Who cares it’s college baseball

Interesting. Crazy if true.

Sources: The gambling situation with @AlabamaBSB is not believed to include any players on the Tide's roster. It also appears the investigation is very much focused on Brad Bohannon, who was dismissed this morning.
