It's not as much fun to rub in the sweep.
Alabama fans, for the most part, are psyched when the other teams do well, and can get into the excitement of success, but if the teams do badly, like baseball, it's certainly not that upsetting. I think they care a little bit more about basketball. The fans definitely get behind gymnastics.
I've never seen a fanbase so consumed with the teams we root for than some of the LSU fans. It's just absurd.

I think what he's trying to say is that he wishes a sweep in baseball should equal a shutout in the BCSNCG. Sorry, doesn't work that way.

You also forgot about the part where he oversimplifies the dynamic to belittle the entire fanbase when they don't react the way he wants them to.

I care about baseball and basketball as well. I can't really keep up with them because of work, and I can't afford to go to games.

I was excited when we won the Final Four in 06, but other than that it's all football. I'm not gonna talk trash to FSU fans I know about beating them in basketball and sweeping them in baseball, because that doesn't make up for them clowning us in our own stadium back in November. Not even close.

Some fans simply don't like baseball or basketball. The football programs are the bread and butter of both universities, so let's not play 'our fans are better than yours.' Baseball matters to many fans, but at the end of day we live in a football-centric world, and it nags LSU fans that the sweep in baseball doesn't bother Bama fans as much as they feel is should.
