what are your thoughts? Michigan will probably be sky-high for this one. a chance for a win against a marquee team. that doesn't have Tuna. if alabama fields a full squad and comes to play they should handle Michigan easily, but is that how it will be?

This doesn't bode well for the Tide.

Michigan improved towards the end while Bama fell off a cliff at the end.

Michigan motivated.

Bama not motivated.

The team hopefully will come out motivated considering the opponent. If all or most of the receivers play, Bama makes their defense look silly all game

If Tua, all the draft guys, and a fully healthy Bama team was playing, Michigan would likely get blown out. As is, however, I expect a competitive game. I can see Harbaugh getting his team up for this game pretty easily. Hopefully Saban and Bama can match that motivation - but it will be a challenge.

It is weird to not be playing in a post-season game that really matters. Never gave a lot of credence to the talk that the playoff has taken away from the other bowls, but I definitely feel it now.

As for whether Alabama has a lot of draft juniors and seniors sit out, it is what it is. I won't blame the kids for making a financial decision when their NFL payday is so close. Would love to see them play one more time for Bama, but, if not, bring on the guys who will be relied on to be the man next year. Let's see what they have.

I think it is a great match up, 2 true blue bloods who had down years and get to play each other. I'm so glad we didn't end up in the Outback Bowl and play Minnesota, that would be a different story.

It will be interesting to see what turns up after this meeting with players that could enter the draft and Herbstreit. No one seems to know if they will be talking about whether they will enter draft or if they are going to play in bowl.

I guess we will wait and see.

Don’t need them. Waddle can do that by himself

Improved to a 29 point loss on rivalry weekend?

Where were they that a 29 point loss is an improvement?

Not to over simplify it, but I really think it just comes down to whether or not Alabama shows up. Both in the literal sense, what players will actually be playing, and in the sense that we'll have to see how motivated and focused they are in the bowl practices. If Alabama wants to be there this will be a blowout, if they sleepwalk through the next few weeks it'll be a good game.

Agree with everything except this. If bama sleepwalks and Mich doesn't, Mich will beat bama by 10+

If Bama’s dudes don’t sit and they show up motivated, they will destroy Michigan.

Bama right now is not Bama from 12 weeks ago.

We are gutted due to injuries and draft departures and to be frank I don’t think Saban much cares about games that don’t contribute to a championship.

If the draft bound juniors sit we will struggle in this one.

I think that we win by 14+ regardless of who sits or who doesn't sit.

I am excited about this game. I think it is going to be good. I think Bama prevails in the end.

Michigan will score 40 plus, if Bama's juniors don't play, Bama will not be able to keep up.

I am pretty sure that he was simply pointing out the absurdity of your post...

If the players who are expected to sit out, actually sit out then alabama drops this game for sure. Even if they don't sit out, alabama still probably drops it. They haven't beaten one single ranked team this calendar year.

Anyway, the remaining players will be motivated, they just won't be good enough. Alabama isn't beating michigan with a roster FILLED with second teamers, third teamers and guys who if not for these injuries, would be in the transfer portal.

Here are just some of the guys expected to sit out or not play due to injuries.

Tua
Juedy
Ruggs
Najee
Moses
Jennings
Hall
McKinney
Diggs
Davis
Mcmillon

Alabama began this calendar year with a loss and likely begins the next with a loss.
