Losing to #19 ranked 3-1 South Carolina on the road that won the SEC East is equivalent to losing to a an unranked 2-3 South Carolina team at home.

So yeah, I'd say that SC was an inferior team to alabama that year. Upsets can happen but it doesn't erase 14 weeks of data.
South Carolina won with a 3rd string QB on Saturday and currently doesn't have a winning record.
