That is a good hire. Hell he went 8-21 with a team he inherited and had them playing great this year. Looks like he did well at Campbell also

He would be smart to stay at Tech for at least another year. Tech has a good chance to go to a Super Regional or Omaha next year. After that he would get job offers that are much better than Bama for baseball. No disrespect to Bama but in Baseball it's not a "dream" job.

Something has gone woefully wrong in the talks with Goff and Bama - LaTech already has their next man picked as coach...waiting on Bama to stop screwing up deal with Goff.

Goff has no buyout contract with LaTech - appears Bama low balled him and is circling back to LaTech officials to sign a contract.

Battle low balled Pierce too. (possibly)

If he did, he's a fricking idiot

I still say Goff ends up at Bama - it is just a bumpy ride for him to get there. That is my personal feeling. A Bama lowball offer is still more than a LaTech salary.

The one point that is clear - LaTech has Goff's replacement already lined up....word is they are waiting on Bama to lock him up with the program.

Just reaffirmed that Goff has no buyout with LaTech so that is not the monkey in the gears.

He is a dumbass.

Goff is a meh hire. I wonder how many coaches told them no before they (Battle) fricked this deal up.

I wouldn't get carried away here. A good hire, by no means a very good or great hire. I am really disappointed in Bama. If they want to bring their baseball back to what it use to be they could have done better than this. 448-307 overall record, mehhh! Pretty sad when your softball team has been outshining your baseball team for years now. Shame on the AD!

What happened with Pierce from Tulane?

Dude took over 3 disaster programs and left all 3 with NCAA teams.

His overall record is meaningless.

True George. Took him 2 years with Montevallo, 4 years with Campbell and only 1 year with Tech. What kind of team do y'all have coming back for next year?

Some good pieces. Core of the lineup was freshmen and sophomores. Need Haynie back, but he probably signs. Won't have a true ace if Eicholtz signs with MLB.

What round did he go in? Yea,he's pretty salty--be a plus to have him come back.

BTW, was Georgie Salem drafted? I know he was last year.
