He's definitely overpaid, but that's not exactly his fault. Blame the AD.

Nope. 5 years is plenty of time to recruit and have a team that can consistently compete. Personally I'd say 4 years but everyone seems to want to give him another.

Gators. Just when I thought we'd crumble and let Bama get the win.

Good game.

He's not going to be fired if Alabama gets something like a six seed and loses in the second round. That's just not going to happen.

Wow that would be a huge turnaround from this season. No way we get a 6 seed.

I wish we could find a way to allow Saban to process nick Jacobs...

I agree that getting into the tourney next season absolutely guarantees CAG more time. I like CAG but his recruitment of post players has been disastrous. We have two 7 footers and a thick 6'8" guy and I bet the 3 of them combined didn't grab a dozen offensive rebounds the entire season. Not being able to score or rebound is a bad combination for a post players and our current crop of post players is easily the weakest and most unskilled group in the 30 years I've paid attention to Alabama basketball.

As for in state recruiting, yes it has been down lately. However, Alabama historically recruited at a high level. That hasn't happened in a while though. I hope Grant turns it around but he has to start recruiting better inside players.

Today, his job would be in jeopardy. We know what happened later.
I'm not saying Grant is Wooden, but maybe, just maybe,Bama fans can hope that this time next year the Anthony Grant era can just be starting.

Recruiting quality big guys isn't easy. There just aren't that many. We've had issues getting depth at the 4 and 5 position, and Duke has struggled in the past as well.

No, but ours are fricking horrendous. This is easily the worst Bama team I've ever seen down low. Everybody keeps pointing to Engstrom being injured (including the talking heads) but that dude was only SLIGHTLY better than what we trot out there now. Slow, clumsy, can't catch, can't shoot, can't defend, can't rebound, can't block out, and plays 8 inches shorter than he is - that describes all 3 of our "big" men.

I'm a realist. Anthony Grant's teams have underperformed at every turn. It's unrealistic to believe next season will be any different.

Yeah, because Grant's teams have given us every reason to expect a tournament appearance, let alone a 6 seed.

Yeah I don't really get it. I'm not sure what about these past 4 seasons would make anyone believe this will happen. We've been on the bubble for 3 straight years. That's not progression.

Anybody remember where we were when he started? Anybody look at the talent the state of Alabama has produced the past few years?

So what type of success do Bama fans think their program should have?

This is irrelevant. We are talking about the likelihood of Bama getting a 6 seed. It's laughable.
