re: Why is the OL as bad as it is?

Why is he the best OL coach? We had talent on the roster last year. If Hevesy was so good, why did Meyer demote in his time here and let him go to MSU?
re: The "Pirate" Should Tell You That Air Raids Dont Work.

I don't understand how a Gator fan can say this after we finally became nationally relevant due to a pass first system (fun 'n gun).
I also don't understand how ANYONE can say this given that all the best offenses in the NFL now run the air raid. News flash: Tom Brady has run an air raid since 2007 when they had their undefeated season.

Interested to see how offense evolves. Mullen said during offseason considered visiting Mike Leach, knowing potential of #Gators passing game. 'Maybe to study that stuff a little bit more and just open it up. Get it to your best players, put them in position to make plays.'
Do you have a link about Mullen saying he wants to talk to Leach? Mullen embracing more of a passing attack (like Meyer did his last year of OSU) would be music to my ears.
re: Honest question: Would you want Coach Mac gone?

You guys need to stop making coaching decisions in a vacuum. If you can get someone clearly better, do it. If not, keep him.
Look at LSU. What was the point of firing Miles if the best you could get is Ogeron. Makes no sense.
People want to fire their coach because it gives the appearance they are doing something, regardless if it is the best move.
This discussion is dumb anyway because there is basically no way he is getting fired. At worst, he will be forced to make a change at OC.

re: Big Game Bob Stoops to VOLS starting to pick up steam

Didn't Stoops legitimately retire? He is still hanging out at OU so it isn't like there is bad blood there.

If he fails, it will be his own fault. Having an unproductive offense was obviously what got him fired from Florida. When USCe rather inexplicably decided to offer him their job, how did he demonstrate that he had learned from that experience? By hiring the exact same OC that had just gotten him canned at Florida. That's the definition of insanity.
He got fired because he didn't win enough games. If he continued to have a shite offense but won games (like he did in 2012), he'd still be here.
Muschamp is stubborn as shite. He legitimately thought he got fired because he was either unlucky or the situation he walked into wasn't that good (which is ridiculous. Meyer left like 20 NFL players on that roster including offense). He hired basically the exact same staff he had at Florida because he truly believed he was going to win a championship with that staff. I highly doubt he really learned anything, because in his mind, he wasn't doing anything wrong.
re: Do Kentucky fans REALLY think they are going to win the East?

I mean, there are some South Carolina fans that think Muschamp is a good coach.

Bama's offensive output actually regressed under Kiffi
So you are saying it was better under Mac and Nuss? Hmmmmm

we took a safety on third down lol

UVA is a worse offensive team than any team UF played in the SEC this year.
KenPom says there are only three SEC teams who are better (KY, UF, and Ark). Efficiency is what matters. Not just total points scored.

Like, I cannot take anyone seriously that think Mac and Muschamp are comparable on offense.

The team Mac took over was 7-5. You can't compare Mac's first 2 years to WMs 3. Its illogical. WM took over a team with 1 QB, 2 undersized backs, no playmakers at WR and TE Reed. UFs offenee in 2010 was awful and the team went that didn't fit his scheme and a poor OL with a great defense. Or did you forget watching JB4, Trey Burton and Reed play QB Meyers last year? Mac got to use WMs QB for 6 games, DRob, KT, and a healthy defense. Or did you forget about how decimated that team that went 4-8 was by injury? Mac played in the worst division in the power 5 and needed UT to shite the bed to win it. He needed a FG to beat a bad Vandy team and OT to beat 3-9 FAU. A UT FG from losing to UT and has been blown out in 7 games while the HC at UF. He's doing The same thing he did at CSU by getting destroyed by good teams and beating up on weaker teams. Both of them suck and they're the exact same poor coaches, staff evaluators but Mac is an overall worse recruiter which is mind boggling given he's at the Flagship school in the most talent state for football recruits.
WOW this is incredibly wrong. Meyer's 2010 class might literally be the best recruiting class of all time. That is what Muschamp walked into.
Meyer left Muschamp on offense: 4 NFL RBs (Demps, Rainey, Gills, Mack Brown), 3 NFL receivers (DT, Hammond, and Burton) along with 2-pseudo NFL receivers/college playmakers in Patton and Debose, and bunch of NFL OL. He also left a decent senior in JB, and the #1 rated QB.
It is complete revisionist history to say Meyer left no talent. It just may have appeared that way because Muschamp COMPLETELY squandered that talent. If it were not for Gills, that 2012 season would have been shite too.

Significantly better than ours despite being similarly young?
I would not say they are similarly young.
We played FR, FR, SO, SO, JR for our OL.
OSU played FR, SO, JR, JR, SR.
That is quite a bit more of experience.
re: TJGator outed as the non-fan we know him to be....
Posted by BasedGator on 1/12/17 at 1:09 am
No it wasn't. Or did you miss the fact that he was only left with 6 scholarship OL, and one QB worth a damn. The offense was in BAD shape. Like miserable.
re: Will Muschamp had a better year in total offense than Jim McElwain.
Posted by BasedGator on 1/12/17 at 1:07 am
Did South Carolina end the season playing 23rd, 29th, 1st, and 24th rated defense? Maybe that contributed to our lower yards per game?
re: Georgia is losing 5 seniors out of 44 4/5 star players
Posted by BasedGator on 1/7/17 at 11:35 am
UGA always has a crap load of talent. 247 said they had the 6th most talent of everyone this year. Didn't help them much. Let's see if Smart will do a better coaching job next year

re: Peterson better than Saban?
Posted by BasedGator on 12/31/16 at 12:32 am
Petersen is a great owner of a small business.
Saban is a CEO of a Fortune 500 company.
Saban may not be able to replicate Petersen's success at smaller schools, but is is unlikely Petersen would be able to replicate Saban's success at a big school. I think Petersen is great when coaching kids who have chips on their shoulder. Highly doubt he could deal with 5 star primadonna.

re: So..... 8-4 Auburn to the Sugar Bowl?
Posted by BasedGator on 11/26/16 at 11:33 pm
Why would an 8-4 Auburn be definitely in over an 8-4 UF? Not saying that won't happen, but seems like the resume would be fairly similar at that point. Both would have also ended the season getting their arse kicked by Bama.
re: Will someone explain to me why Tom Herman is such a hot commodity, I don't get i
Posted by BasedGator on 11/25/16 at 3:17 pm
While his big wins were impressive, they were when they were underdogs. Seems he can play the underdog well, but can he do well when he is favored? That is why you can't just dismiss the crappy teams he has lost to.
Assuringly, LSU wouldn't play the underdog role that much. Maybe he'll beat Bama, but then lose to Miss St and TAMU?

I want us to win the next two so we don't have to depend on beating LSU, but damn do I want to beat the corndogs after all the shite they've talked
