Normally they led in defense.

They may end up being talked about in the same conversations as 1995 Nebraska and 2001 Miami.

They’re a juggernaut right now

Our offense is very good, but we haven't played a defense with a pulse yet.

This weekend against the Aggies will be a decent step up.

We're #8 in points scored on our defense, 9.3.

Our offensive total could be much higher too. Playing a ton of subs in the 3rd and 4th qtrs.

Very impressive. Hard to find faults. If Hurts continues to stay not sure of the weaknesses on offense

Not the best defense they have ever had but very solid. Dont know if a droid team could defeat, lol

Tua has not made it to half time yet. Marinate in that for a moment.

A complete juggernaut for sure. If you don’t win the NC, you ought to be bull whipped!

Yes, it seems to be a new level of offense

We don't have the depth we usually do on defense due to some injuries. New PK and punter as well.

If Saban wouldn't call off the dogs and sub as early as he does, they could be averaging 70 right now per game. Last night could have been an 84-7 type of score very easily.

The real tests lie ahead though against defenses such as LSU, MSU, Auburn, etc.

The teams they've played so far are very unimpressive

The kickers are no doubt the weakness.

Waddle is balancing out the punter problems by forcing the other team to sky punts, or else he flips the field.

The place-kickers are probably as bad as they have ever been, and that is saying something.

Why can Bama not haz fg kicker ?

Question: does an increasing comfort in offensive production lead to a drop in defensive edge, prep, intensity and execution over the course of the year that bites them in a game where the offense under performs.

Defense looked pretty prepped and intense last night against a potent offense.

I'm having a hard time buying into those 35 yd. punts after having Scott for so long...hope we continue to not have to use him much....for numerous reasons!

We're #1 in kickoff returns with Jacobs as well.

Anything outside of 30 yards will be hit and miss. One bad miss and the make was barely over the crossbar.

As for punting, that will be rare anyway. He has to do better than his 35 yards/punt though it is livable (as long as he doesn't have any bad shanks, blocks, etc.).

That's true for the vast majority of teams in the SEC. Not just Alabama.

But, that was a test. Metcalf, Brown and Lodge were tremendous matchup issues all night. Some great plays by the secondary and excellent pass rush made the difference. Great job by surtain stepping up and covering Metcalf after that first big play.

a truly special team is emerging. I assume the continued kicking game woes are simply the football gods injecting some aspect temper both expectations and fan egos to a degree.

Impressive amount of points put up against power house Louisville and Arkansas State, perhaps UL Lafayette and the Citadel can slow down Bama
