But, that was a test. Metcalf, Brown and Lodge were tremendous matchup issues all night. Some great plays by the secondary and excellent pass rush made the difference. Great job by surtain stepping up and covering Metcalf after that first big play.

Yep. All things considered, that was one of the better, all around defensive efforts we've had in a long time. Even once things got out of reach we kept attacking on the DL and in the secondary. Incredibly encouraging.

Louisville

Is a decent ACC team who has won 8 or more games every year since 2012.

Arkansas State

Is projected to win the Sun Belt this year and is probably the best team in the state of Arkansas right now.

Tua has not made it to half time yet. Marinate in that for a moment.

Is it a conditioning problem or is Tua just lazy

Louisville just barely squeaked one out against a Western Kentucky team that lost to Maine. I think they are pretty bad this year.

Arkansas State is a solid Sun Belt team, but they are a Sun Belt team.

Our stats are nice and I have reason to think we won't still be very good against better defenses, but we are very much untested on that side of the ball. We'll get a decent test this weekend but not much else until we go to Baton Rouge.

I have no doubt bama could have put up over 80 points last night if they wanted to.

If we'd run our offense with our starters the entire game we would have scored 90 points. Honestly, it's entirely possible we break 100.

Historic amount of points put up against a typical opening slate for an SEC team. First time in SEC history a team has opened up with 3 straight 50+ point games. Not to forget a 49 point half against an SEC opponent that ties an SEC record.

fIFY, it is admittedly too early to tell and UA will certainly be challenged in what looks like the most competitive West in a few years. That said, don't act like an all time record is unimpressive.

And, while it won't matter if we get clunky against good defenses, if Saban wasn't such an old school, shut it down type guy we easily could have scored 70 points in all 3 of those games. Maybe more.

may have been the best team Bama has played this year, Sun Belt or no.

Sad, but true. Certainly the best team in Arkansas

It helps when your backup is playing his butt off to prove something.

They may end up being talked about in the same conversations as 1995 Nebraska and 2001 Miami.

They’re a juggernaut right now

Those team destroyed some good teams...and I think there were more quality teams those seasons. Well see how Bama does against decent teams...Ole Miss was not

So now Louisville is a decent ACC team? When forever and a day, y’all chomp at the bit at telling everyone how shitty that conference is, but Bama whooped up on Louisville and it’s a quality opponent. Arkansas State is basically a MAC team. And everyone knows only Northwestern, Purdue and Arkansas lose to MAC teams OOC.

A complete juggernaut for sure. If you don’t win the NC, you ought to be bull whipped!

I see what you're trying to do here. But, I totally agree with you. The only way we don't is if we beat ourselves. Don't you agree?
